  1. I doubt there is any chance for getting launch tickets for one of the last two launches?
  2. Does anyone have suggestions for a good airport to fly into to get to a good place to watch the shuttle launch. Also the best place to watch the launch. Thanks
  3. It's sad to see we have come from the freedom of the Wright Brothers to so many rules we can't even enjoy flying. Can you imagine them trying to fly with all the rules we have today. They would probably just not try. And then you have people who live by the book just because the book says so. How about lets step up and support freedom not rules that take it away.
  4. I have the delco gen with the zeptronics regulator. I have also had dead battery issues and weak battery. I also have a problem with the generator breaker poping. I believe it is because the battery gets low. While flying the garmin 496 will go into spells of low voltage. The genetator has receently been rebuilt according to logs. How do you flash generator.
  5. I am also bitter about Narco, but all radios are expensive to repair, and all customer service in America has gone to crap. The reason I would like to stay with mk-12d is so I don't have to do a new install.
  6. I have had more comm trouble than you can imagine. The plane started with a mk-12d. The receive side of comm went out. Have had $1200 quoted to fix. Bought a mk-12e that was dead. Bought a 12d from dawson with no glideslope and it ended up being a cessna replacement. I would really like to buy a 12d with glideslope for a reasonable price, but would be up for any digital nav comm. Please help. Not a lot of extra money. Thanks

  8. I am getting cabin smoke, smells like exhaust. I pulled the cowling and shroud around the muffler and I don't see any cracks or bad spots in the muffler. It looks fairly new. Any suggestions?

  10. For those of you mounting it to the control shaft does it not limit your forward elevator travel. I tried it on my c model and it took to much of the elevator travel out. I would be worried about getting out of a spin or an evasive manuver.

  12. My 50 amp generator breaker is poping. Seems it is mostly with the landing light on. Check the landing light wires for a bad connection or short and no luck. Could the breaker be weak.

  14. I think my poh is lacking. It doesn't have any fuel burns, take off data, nor any pictures of the panel. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to get one. I think they have to be approved for the airplane right? The carb has been replaced, does anyone know how to tell if it has the probe provisions.
  15. I checked my tail. I don't see any cracks in the brackets but there is a little play when you move the tail forward and reverse. There is none up and down. I would say there is between 1/4 and 1/2 inch. Sounds and feels like maybe a bushing. Is this normal? Would anyone be willing to check theirs for me. Thanks
  16. I can't get my oil temp guage to work. An aftermarket was added by previous owner and the one in the cluster was inoped. I would like to get it working. It stays pegged hot. I can ground the temp wire to the cluster ground and it pegs cold. The probe wires were cut at firwall and I don't know if aftermarket is using different probe.
  17. I noticed in the maintance manual they list a carb temp sensor and guage. My 62 c doesn't have either. Does anyone else have factory carb temp.

  19. The fuel burn is calculated only by filling the tank. The mixture is set by leaning to rough and then back in till smoth. The engine has about 1900 hrs with 700 since toh. I generally set the prop at 2500 and throttle to the wall at 4500 or above. I am averaging 11 gal on 3 hr trips not around the pattern. I am going to add an egt and fuel computer soon. Any ideas on the other questions? A note to others please leave your differances to your post or qestions.
  20. Just bought a 62 c model and wanted to get thoughts on a few things. Every where I researched said the c would burn about 9 gph but I can't get it below 11gph. I normally fly at 055 or 065. Any Ideas? I have a little surge in the prop on take off but it is fine after a few min. The oil temp is the only guage in the garwin cluster that doesn't work. Any ideas would be great. Also I get a fuel smell after landing, but that is the only time. Can't find any stains. It has bladders. Fuel Pressure Likes to go above redline sometimes, especially with pump on Plane flys great and runs good, I would just like to work out some of the quirks. Thanks
