  1. Sounds interesting. When you say "increase", do you mean EGT's?
  2. I'd go with the F! My first Mooney was a '67 C with the hydralic flaps and Johnson Bar gear. I really liked the set up because it was pretty bullet proof. As far as speed goes, you should see around a 150+ knots on 10.5-11.5 GPH which is still pretty fast. The F looks pretty turn key which is also a good point. Just get in and fly!
  3. Congrats and enjoy!
  4. Testwest is correct. Leave everything full forward and climb out at 120 kt indicated. At that speed, you should see around a 1000 feet/minute climb rate with CHT's under 400.
  5. Auto lean is an automatic leaning feature on the 550-A. It has an altitude compensating fuel pump that senses barometric pressure and above 3000 feet msl, it starts leaning by reducing fuel flow. There is a bulletin on the Continental website that discusses the proper way to adjust it. To check that it is properly adjusted, at sea level full throttle/2700RPM, you should burn between 24.2 and 25.6 gallons per hour. Here is the link: http://www.tcmlink.com/pdf2/SID97-3E.pdf When I fly my Missile, I leave it full rich until I level off. Once leveled, I use the mixture to fine tune the leaning. I run 50 degrees ROP and I find it takes very little adjusting.
  6. Said to a line man in Los Angeles... "The tux is rented, but the jet is mine."
  7. Quote: 74657 Nice! Which one did you buy?
  8. Congrats on obtaining such a nice Missile! I just purchased one myself and will be picking it up this Sunday.
