  1. I live in Aspen CO (8000') and owned a M20J for 2 years. It did just fine. Watch your vertical speed when on lee side. If there's a big pressure difference from Western CO to the front range, there could be some mountain wave. Fly to Leadville in the morning and get your certificate. I miss the 201
  2. I put it on my '84 J and really like it. Is it worth $3500? Maybe, maybe not. I needed a little help with climb at altitude and it has delivered for me. Don't over anal'yse it.
  3. I just listed my M20J on Controller. I love it but it's time to upgrade. By the looks of other ads there, I may be on the low side. Check it out if still interested in a 201. www.controller.com/listingsdetail/aircraft-for-sale/MOONEY-M20J-201/1984-MOONEY-M20J-201/1200639.htm?
  4. If it's the computer, about $2K plus re-installing. Each servo maybe $800 That's my guess from recent work.
  5. The iPad is a great product and ForeFlight is a great app. It's now even better with geo-referencing. I heard rumors at Sun'n'Fun that ForeFlight will have traffic by Oshkosh. Why are so many reluctant to accept the fact that Apple is in the lead for tablets (computers also) and by the time others "catch up", Apple already has an even better product out. The iPad is a bit more expensive but for those of us flying Mooney's, the extra is negligible. I've just ordered the iPad 2 only because I need the camera for Skype. Anyone want my original?
  6. LED strip is the way to go. Simple to install and it works great with the rheostat. I used a blue strip and love the contrast.
  7. Unfortunately, it will end with the crook moving on to another product and another victim. In his/her country, one successful scam and they're rich.
  8. Thanks for the heads up. I've got the DVR set. Hopefully it won't have too much artificial drama. But it's TV, so it probably will.
  9. Sorry, I don't have performance data to refer to. I purchased this plane and almost immediately started an extensive annual. (PF exhaust, complete new interior, SB 208B, replaced rear windows, donuts, etc.) I fly a lot out of GWS so I wanted any help I could get. It's a great plane, but I may look at getting into a turbo soon.
  10. Selling my exhaust system. I replaced my system with a Power Flow exhaust. Complete and no issues when removed. Asking $450. Boxed up and ready to go. PM me if interested. Thanks
  11. I sent my yokes to Aero Comfort in March and had them back in 4 days. The look and feel great.
  12. Yes, my tent and I made it thru the hours or rain last night. Today looks like more of the same. I'm camping at the far west end on row 8. I'll be here until Saturday or Sunday, or till I can taxi off this soggy field.
  13. Flying to Madison next Friday, then join the caravan to Oshkosh on Saturday. This will be my third flight to OSH, but first with my Mooney and first with the caravan. 1 more week but ready to go now.
  14. My Mooney M20J 201kts
