  1. One of the bidders attempted to negotiate a deal outside of eBay, which fell through, hence the aircraft has been relisted. I gave a buddy some recurrent in his 310-R a couple of weeks ago, and we ended up at Port City Air for some cheap (5.25) fuel. I walked to the end of the line, and there was 777MT. It had a Bruce's aircraft cover on her, not much to see inside. The owner is adamant about not running it up, as the engine is pickled, but he'll support a succsessful pre-buy. I'm not sure I'm ready to support a big-bore Continental, but I do have a fair amount of time operating them, C-402 and C-414 included. The Rocket numbers seem a little off Cessna numbers in the burn department. You can run a 402 at 26/23/85pph and it will usually settle in around peak, 29/23/90 will give around the same result. One thing about the big bore reman is that it costs $000's less than the IO-360 variant.
  2. Seller never got back to me either. I snoozed on a Turbo Viking a couple of months ago, 2050TT and 50SFRMAN for $40K. These airplanes are gaining notariety and are a lot of bang for your buck. There's a lot of 20J'S around with good times and NDH, it will happen. Thanks for the post.
  3. New listing today, 1967 20F turbo up on eBay Motors: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1967-Mooney-M20F-/330486964388?pt=Motors_Aircraft&hash=item4cf28ee0a4
  4. I just place it in a sick sac, then you can dump it inconspicously. Years ago we had a C150 Aerobat w/taildragger mod, and a 50 gal tank in the baggae area for over eight hours endurance, a plastic funnel, and 3/8" Aeroquip hose running out the fuselage. We got a one time field approval for the funnel, my buddy installed it, I signed off on it.
  5. I read your feedback over on Airnav, not nice people. Gone are the days when we would land at LGA after hours, no fee or maybe $10.00 and park at the Marine Terminal free. I would Love to live in the South during Winter, Spring in Northern Arizona, Summer on Cape Cod.
  6. Mooney in Omaha: http://www.chooseyouritem.com/used-airplanes-and-aircraft-for-sale.html
  7. The seller did get back to me late last night, and it does have a damage history hence reinforcing my time line theory. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1977-Mooney-201-Low-time-New-Engine-Bonanza-Cessna-/350404823895?pt=Motors_Aircraft&hash=item5195c14b57 As Cruiser mentioned I do need a turbo, and will look for the right machine. I have looked at M20K's but I'm not a Continental fan, and remans are horrifically priced.
  8. I am looking at a 1977 M20J to purchase, it was recently relisted on eBay Motors as the reserve was not met on the previuos auction. The aircraft has 3271 TT, and 65 hrs. on a factory reman. I'm not a Narco fan, however the panel looks serviceable, has a new leather interior, paint is OEM. It also has a three-blade Sabre prop conversion. I did contact the seller who indicated that he would take 65K, I haven't heard back about damage history as of yet, since the total time/tbo/propeller suggest a prop strike, although the Lycomings can run well past tbo. I'm kicking my own butt as I let a beautiful 1976 Turbo Viking with 2050TT and 50 hrs. on a reman go for $40K a couple of months ago, and I really want to fly out West. Thanks for any thoughts on this.
  9. Nice looking ship, enjoy!
  10. Aviall carries Klixon, just curious what price and availability is?
  11. Sometimes you need to sacrafice ground speed for a good ride, no sense beating up yourself, the A/C, and passengers for a couple of knots.
  12. Looks like one of the new Hartzell Q-tip propellers. Seriuosly that's a shame, brand new reman. There's a reason why the insurance company owns it, it was totaled. This means that the damage met or exceeded what the insured hull value was. I'll second the 20K number.
  13. There's actually a 20E. a 20F, and a 20J for sale in Omaha, most sellers will let you fly an A/C for the fuel.
  14. Adding up 20J and Ranger time I get over 100 hrs. ATP total time is 8450 with 8000 retract. I should think $70K hull and $300000 liability would cover it, plus I have an umbrella policy of $1m. AOPA can insure this? Thanks!
  15. Hi I am looking at a 20J to use for business and am trying to figure my fixed costs. Any idea what I should pay for hull and liability? The aircraft will be hangered. Thanks!
