Thanks for the kind words. Yep, living in Louisville KY flying internationally and instructing in the B757/767 at UPS. My current ride is a Cirrus SR-22. long story but it has to do with my wife and the parachute:-) . I serve on the BoD of Flight Club 502 and a very generous donor gave us the airplane to raffle off to raise money for our youth flight club. Interesting statistic, last year the FAA recorded just over 100 solos by kids under the age of 18. At Flight Club 502 we were responsible for 22 of those 100. One club, one city, did 20% of all youth solos nationally! The Super Cruiser is in really nice shape. Up in Alaska these can fetch over 50K. So 50 bucks for a chance to win the plane, or some cash if you don't want the plane is a pretty good deal.

Fellow Mooniacs - Want to help kids learn to fly! Flight Club 502 is raffling off a Piper Super Cruiser to help support kids. Just $50 per ticket. Flight Club 502's mission is to provide youth ages 14-21 with very low cost flight training, provide them with hands on aircraft building experience (RV-12), and provides private pilot ground schools to any young person interested in aviation. Please share this with your networks, help out if you can, and possibly win this incredible airplane! https://rafflecreator.com/pages/33010/flight-club-502-piper-super-cruiser-raffle http://www.flightclub502.org

Helping a buddy (USAF BGEN) find a plane. An E/F or J is perfect for his mission. He plans to own the plane for 2-3 years so he wants a plane that's mechanically sorted. No leaks or other known expensive repairs that need to be performed. Doesn't have to be a beautiful example, just sorted and reliable. Must be IFR with an autopilot, nice to have a G430W etc. If you're interested in selling he's ready to buy. Please contact me. George Perry

I am no longer affiliated with AOPA, nor am I a member As to your question about passenger condition, this is extensively documented on the COPA safety section of their website. But to summarize, for "in envelope" deployments the vast majority of passengers walk away from a CAPS landing with few if any injuries. https://www.cirruspilots.org/copa/safety_programs/w/safety_pages/720.caps-saves-and-fatal-accidents.aspx?1

The SR-22 has LOTS more room inside and with A/C its very comfortable for long trips. My plane has a 1020 lb useful load with A/C so with slightly reduced fuel I can carry 4 normal sized adults. Also the doors make getting in and out alot easier. The mooney shuffle across the front seats is fun but can be a PITB. Speed of the SR22 is slower. LOP Cruise in the SR-22 is 155-160 knots on about 11.7 Gal/hr. In the Screaming Eagle it was 170 knots on the same fuel burn. ROP there's about a 10 knot difference in real world conditions too. I'd see 180 knots ROP in the M20S and 170 knots in the SR-22. Climb is better in the eagle and that's thanks to Mooney's long corded wing. I'd see 1500 ft/min in the eagle compared to 1200 ft/min initial climb in the SR22. I will say that all these comparisons are meaningless if your spouse won't fly with you. So even though I prefer the way a Mooney feels and flies, for me the safety factor with the CAPs overwrites all of the Mooney's performance advantages. Both planes are great in their own way...just a different philosophy of design. The SR22 is a great plane and fits the bill for my family and the added safety of the CAPs over mountainous terrain and the occasional night flight are worth it. Hope that answers your questions.

AWESOME!

Fellow Mooniacs its with mixed emotions that I make this post. As some of you who attended this years Mooney Summit where I presented know, I have sold my Mooney and now own a Cirrus SR-22. Nothing will change my love for Mooney's and my Eagle will always be my favorite Mooney....but as the family gets bigger and heavier and the spouse more risk averse the parachute became a deal breaker for her to fly in a light plane. So my fate was sealed.

Aircraft partnerships are almost like a marriage. You definitely need to find the right partner or it'll cost you big-time!
-
Its tough to find someone willing to pull fuel into a Bravo :-)
-
Buy the plane and find a partner or two to split the costs with if ownership, operating costs and low usage are concerns. You can try to find a partner and then buy the plane, but this can be a challenge. Best bet, buy the plane (so it's real) and then find a partner. Once you have a bird parked in a hanger, finding a partner to split costs with will be much easier.

Thanks for pointing out my typo. Yep its meant to say US flagged carrier. Corrected. And I'm not a lobbyist:-)

Lawrence These questions require an in depth discussion. As someone who started in the civilian side of the business (ERAU, CFI, Freight and charter flying) and switched over to the military (20 years in F-14/F18 Aircraft) and now fly for a major airline, I'd be happy to discuss the pro's and con's of different career paths and hiring trends. As an aside I gave my 13 year old son his first lesson two weeks ago. He's interested in flying so this topic is near and dear to me. If you'd like to discuss send me a PM and we'll connect. ATB, George

Starting the avionics upgrade process on my new to me F. If anyone has a GNS430 or 530 they'd like to part with (WAAS preferred) please let me know. Thx George

Mike. I sent you a PM.

A lot of fun. Compressed and intense training on par w what I’m used to from the military. Plane is easy to fly after getting familiar w all the various systems.
-
I was considering a host of options but when this opportunity popped up it was perfect and w partners extremely affordable.

As an update I’m all settled flying 757 / 767 for UPS. Just bought in on a highly upgraded m20f partnership.
