  1. I found a great Mooney cfi on this site: https://themooneyflyer.com/cfi.html Will Wobbe in northern Va, KJYO, did me earlier this year. Had a great time with him. We still chat.
  2. Nope. Insurance owns the plane at that point. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride.
  3. I installed the medeco locks in my m20j a couple months ago. They were a pain in that the metal latch did not fit. Ended up grinding the latch metal down to fit. now that they are in I love them. I sent my old latches to medeco. I think they may update the latches to have ones that fit.
  4. Update phase 1 (front) done. They look great and feel like a huge upgrade. I installed them as owner produced parts (14 CFR 21.9(a)(5)) and preventative maintenance (14 CFR 43.3(g) and Appendix A(c)). I think these will last longer than my head liner. Next step, back seats...
  5. I’m not a fan of scalper prices. I need to save my $$ to maintain my plane. I would love to support Tracy and the family if possible.
  6. Did this ever happen? I am a new Mooney owner and would love to have a copy of this book.
  7. I have a new, to me, 78 m20j. The baggage area tie down has some old straps bolted to the floor with a ring that is pressed directly into the floor. seems to me I would be better off using my own new straps connected to d-rings that I can actually connect to. Sadly the rings are bolted to the floor and I can’t change the straps without loosening the bolts Is there an approved stc to replace the default smashed down ring with anything else that can be connected to decent straps? And may offer more utility? can I replace them as an interior owner modification? thanks for any suggestions,
  8. +1 for Jimmy. I ended up buying somewhere else but he was amazing.
  9. Reviving an old topic, I have the same problem. Sadly vents in my M20J are falling apart. Did anyone complete this project? Are the STL files available anywhere? I'll report back on how I fix it...
