  1. I installed the CIES senders in mine with my 930 install, and couldn’t be happier. What a great safety improvement.
  2. Ended up mounting it on the right side for now. Eventually it will move to the left as other stuff gets replaced.
  3. What are you charging to cut and ship these panels? I would be interested in a 3 piece for my J model for ability to change out stuff in the future.
  4. They installed a Garmin 355 GPS for me in our flying clubs 172. They did a good job. Only one minor issue is they rewired the panel an one engine instrument needs moved to the main bus. They are taking care of it without headache. I will use them for my Mooney in the future.
  5. Wish I would have seen this. I just paid $2,300 for a new one for my 78' J last month.
  6. New aircraft to me. Removing a Loran system, factory engine gauges, installing LED Nulites behind instruments, and installing a JPI930 engine monitor. I am Owner assisting install. I have a few questions. Some of my gauges are “cloudy”. How hard is it to get the glass replaced with new non reflective glass. How hard is replacing a GI106A with a Garmin GI275 CDI? I have a little money left and trying to get the most bang for my $$ while it is apart. Also, any good replacements for the dash pad lights under the brim?
  7. Did you ever get a photo of this panel? I am looking for the same CAD file for a 1978 M20J as I replace instruments.
  8. I have a EMD-900 in my Beechcraft. I wanted the larger screen for better visibility as I get older as I plan to keep this plane. I ordered the EDM-930 when there was a rebate after Oshkosh already. Just awaiting shipment.
  9. Thanks for the input. I was worried it might not fit. I like your panel. Nice and clean but updated.
  10. Looking for suggestions on where to mount a JPI930. The Loran is being removed, and old engine instruments are being removed. Do I flush install it on the right side of the panel, or mount it on the left side somewhere? Just looking for a temporary place to install until I can do the rest of the panel in a year or so. Anyone need any old instruments being removed?
  11. So what are the numbers to aim for? I am going to have limited time with a CFI prior to purchase, maybe 4-5 hours. The owner isn’t flying anymore and barely anyone has Mooney time around me. I have some studying to do on it. I ordered the checkmate check list for it.
  12. I am a relatively low time pilot (300hrs over 18yrs), stepping into a Mooney M20J from a Beechcraft Sierra C24R. The Sierra was comfortable, but was too slow for my missions (4-500 mile trips) What things does a new owner need to know? Suggestions on getting acclimated with the airplane. Things I need to buy specific to Mooney's? I will have to upgrade the panel and repair a few things in the future. Replacing a Century2 autopilot, KMA20 audio panel, installing a newer COM#2, Install ADS-B transponder with adsb-in, etc. I am planning on flying 150hrs a year to stay current in it. My plan is to step into the Mooney word with the J, and eventually step up again to an Ovation in 5 years or so.
  13. If its N201BV, he has it apart currently for annual. I spoke to him about it yesterday. He said come look at it while its apart and save paying for a prebuy. Sounds like a good plane.
  14. Looking for someone to prebuy a M20J in central Wisconsin area. Someone familiar with them. I am more concerned with airframe issues than engine/prop issues.
