  6. Anyone have a recommendation for IFR certification for a M20J in Dallas area? Come to Me or go to them, either works for me. And, what is an expected cost? Just so I won’t get sticker shock. 8. Where are you Based? I have a 90 J MSE, my Pilot side is burned out. I bought one but I think it’s 12v, I need 24v. Do you have a picture of the back?
  9. I have a 1990 MSE, that I have not been actively trying to sell, but has crossed my mind to get a partner or sell out right here lately. Great plane, my wife just doesn’t enjoy flying as much as I do. It is actually having a GTN 650xi and a GTX 345 installed as we speak, should be ready next week. TT-800 KFC150 etc. etc. ‘message me if you would like to talk about it, really haven’t thought about a price, but would listen to an offer. I’m in Dallas TX.
  10. Well, I’m late to the party. Been looking for one of these also. Just want to say Thanks for helping other Mooney flyers out. Folks on this Forum are the Best
  11. Back from Lubbock, 5 stars for Lubbock Aero. Ramp help and FBO staff was very Friendly and Professional. And No ramp fees. Will definitely park there again and recommend to others.
  12. Ok thanks, I will check all the hoses and fittings again. We have adjusted the regulator twice.the low/high vacuum warning light is sporadic. But always reads low on gauge. It flashes much more than it doesn’t. No bouncing of needle , just steady low thank you
  13. Still trying to figure out my vacuum issue, bout ready to start changing parts to figure it out. I currently have a sigma tek, anyone know if the other brands are interchangeable? Or if I change pump brand, will I need to change other things to be compatible? Any options on quality of pump brands before I go down this road? Thanks so much for your input Randy
  14. Thanks everyone, I’ll give a pirep first of the week.
  15. Thanks to each of you for your comments 1. Yes I pull each breaker that was labeled for any kind of lighting, Nothing 2. Yes the light comes on when I open the baggage door, just like with main cabin door. There is a push switch on both.
  16. I’m having the same problem with interior light draining battery while door is open in the hangar while cleaning or working around the plane. I cannot figure out which breaker would disable temporarily. Any body have any ideas? Thanks for the help
  17. Is the vacuum system still available?
  18. Been awhile since I’ve flown into Lubbock, any suggestions on where to park? Overnight Friday-Saturday
  19. No rotating beacon switch in mine. I really appreciate all of the posts and all of the knowledge I’ve gained on this. I guess I’ll start looking for a GDL 82 or 88. Doesn’t seem to be as quick and easy, but the next best thing.
  20. I have not started install yet, when I hit this snag I reached out for advice. The tailbeacon is a strobe also, would that not meet the requirements? Ok, Im hitting the brakes until I get it figured out. Thanks to everyone for commenting. I just thought I had seen these on other J’s. Was trying to get compliant till I can get in for upgrades.
  21. I’m in need of a little info and advice please. I have finally got my Tailbeacon and am ready to install. However, I have realized that my tail recognition light is a strobe, which is part of my three point wingtip strobes. This is an original factory setup. Is this normal? I really don’t want to use my strobes all the time. Am I missing something or is this what everyone does? 1990 M20J MSE thanks for your help
  22. As to why I think it’s going out; suction gauge is about 4 or a little less, and my High/low warning light is flashing. Nothing seems to be affected as I thought it would though. ‘thanks for the tips on the Rapco, I didn’t know I had an alternative. I am about to start researching the correct on for my IO-360
  23. I think my vacuum pump is going out. Anyone know if these can be rebuilt? The $1200 price tag, bout gave me sticker shock. Or any other ideas would be appreciated.
  24. Just got my J home. I would love to connect with any local guys and share resources and advice. Mechanics, flying locals etc. , join and support the local Mooney community. see y’all Randy (HQZ) Mesquite
  25. I would just say Ditto to all the above, with 1 addition. If you are considering maintenance as a primary consideration for inclusion or exclusion for an aircraft, I think you must consider the $1500-$2000 yearly cost of just having that chute in a Cirrus. Must be redone every 10 years, just do the math good luck, and enjoy your journey
