  1. Does anyone know what the screw size and head is for these corners of the top cowling on an M20F (1969). I have never seen them, so I don't know what I am looking for. I can tell that they are threaded machine screws but don't now the head type or thread pitch.
  2. Do you know the number of this Mixture rod end SB? I am trying to locate it for the AP/IA to put in my logbook now that it is replaced? Thx

  8. Please take pics of the two front engine baffles (front, back and side) so I can see how they are made and attach as well as what hoses are connect to them. I am missing those two front baffles and am going to need to make them from your pictures. Thanks!
  9. I found out that the swivel is part number MS20270-B8 (also shown as -8B). This is a standard Apex Mil Spec U-joint still available commercially from the Apex Tool Group for around $200. I also found that he pin holding the swivel to the shaft is an AN392-19 which is available on ebay for around $5. The shaft in the tail section from the back cabin wall swivel (behind battery on F models) all the way to the tail gear assembly (square slider tube) is part number 915026-021 and is used on all models (C, E, F, G). This shaft passes through a hole in the frame that originally had a plastic cover over the sharp edges. On my plane the plastic cover was missing and the shaft was wearing against this brace. Someone had applied grease to the brace to lubricate any interference but the brace still cut a groove into the tube. I am looking for a new tube (915206-021) and plan to install a Panduit slotted sheet metal edge guard for future protection. I will include pictures of all this when I get back to the plane (#GEE99F-C)
  10. Does anyone have a picture of what the new Mixture and Throttle cable end should look like (preferably connected). I have included a pic of mine (new cables are coming) and I want to set it up correctly.
  11. I decided to go with the Garwin 34-828-014 governor instead of the PCU-5000. After feedback from some members, I found that Mooney used two types of governors based on where the prop cable comes out of the firewall. Mine comes out on the left (pilot) side and mounts to a triangular aluminum bracket (see picture). Other planes (prior to 1969) used a piece of 90-angle-aluminum extrusion mounted up and to the right for the cable coming off the right side of the firewall. It appears that the default configuration of the PCU-5000 is to replace this right-hand style of Hartzell Governor and thus the rotation and indexing of the ATH-1 requires reconfiguration for my mount type. In order to make things simpler, I opted to just go with an overhauled Garwin $1,550 which is also about 1/2 price. Additional research shows the 34-828-014 being used on both 0-360 and IO-360 for all Mooney models in 1969 (probably other years also).
  12. Here is a pic of the zero time overhauled IO-360-A1A with 100 hour slick mags (4345/4370 with SlickStart). Mechanically, I'll be installing the following: new Sky-Tec Starter (NL) new Power-plane AL12-P70 Amp Alternator PCU-5000 Governor ATH1 new mechanical Fuel pump it had a new Electric boost pump installed at the accident annual ditching the vacuum pump new Powerflow exhaust system 120 hour SPOH (100 hr Eddy-Current required AD prop) to start with New Mixture and Throttle cables (mine are a bit sticky) New Fuel/Oil Hoses Rebuilt Oil cooler Blasted and powder coated engine mount with AD gussets welded in New Lord engine mounts and engine mount-firewall hardware
  13. Thanks everyone for the help so far in finding parts. I thought I would share my new Mooney Resurrection project. The pics on this post show the plane, about 10 years ago before, and after the hangar accident as well as how I purchased it last month (It came with the cowling and inspection panels). Thanks to the help from people on this board, I now have an engine, prop and baffles. I'll be posting pics of the restoration in this new topic. My goal is to keep the interior and exterior original, but have a nearly zero time mechanicals and a full Dynon glass Avionics system with GTN 650 or 750 GPS.
  14. Yep - no u-joint connecting front and rear shaft. Anyone have one?

I have the trim wheel and the shafts back past the battery, but the the rear shaft starting around the battery to the back square slip joint was just sitting in the tail and was not connected to the front shaft. It appears that I might only be missing the swivel U-Joint which connects the two. Perhaps the electric trim gear sits in place of this swivel? I'll get some pictures next time I get to the hangar.
