  1. I probably need to call you and discuss. Part of me wants the LED but there are so many wants I need to do one at a time
  2. I will make sure to check that I guess. Never even considered it could be something else. Also, I managed to get ahold of the bulb company and they lined me out with the right bulb.
  3. I have a strobe that's gone out on my M20J. I was wondering if anyone could help make sure I get the right replacement bulb. Attached is a picture of mine and linked below is the one that looks just like it. I haven't had much luck with finding specific information. Is that the right replacement bulb? I'm starting to thin I should have taken that light off my wing tip and inspected it more closely. https://www.knots2u.net/whelen-a625-wing-tip-tail-strobe-assy-part-01-0770058-03/ Any input is appreciated.
  4. Thank you!
  5. Ok like the title says, I'm trying to get my W&B sorted out. I've looked through my POH and there are some sample problems. It puts my empty weight at 1695 with a 75.43 moment. My latest up to date weight and balance is 1738.77 with an ARM of 45.13. That is a very significant difference in ARM imo. I looked up some other WB forms online like this one http://trumpetb.net/alph/wbM20J.html and they seem to be around the same area. This online form is also way different than my example, my example doesn't match up with anything I find online. Obviously you go off the POH but I fill out a WB and i'm not in the envelope anywhere. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, I think my understanding of arm and Moment (LB-INS, / 1000) is wrong, as embarrassing as this is to admit... but I need to ask and get this right. So thanks for any help.
  6. Anyone know where I can find a 3D printed model or a plastic model for my 201? I'd like to start messing with paint schemes and figure a plastic model is the best way. Thanks! Merry Christmas
  7. To add to this, I was told there was a guy named Alan that has a place called sky art in Sabine Texas. Got a number from someone but it's a non working number. Anyone know that guy or heard of him? I can't find him online
  8. So the new Mooney I bought came with an out dated paint job and some known corrosion. My next task is to get it painted. Living in the greater Houston area, where do I get this done properly without paying out the nose?
  9. So while I have everyone's attention, what toolbox should I be creating for my plane? Do people typically search around for little spots of corrosion and what not and touch them up? Is that a common thing? There is a little on my plane and that's the first thing I'm going to address. Maybe other things tho like cleaning the engine regularly or anything like that? couple quarts of oil on hand. Dust cloth maybe? Just a general kit to have on hand in the car or something to tinker on the plane with things I can do? I know I want to get a G5 installed. Probably figure out where I want to mount a tablet. Maybe consider installing a USB charging port or cigarette port for chargers?
  10. Thanks guys. How's flying into San Antonio? That's one of the trips my wife and I are looking to do. Figured it's a good weekend trip place.
  11. I'm at KLVJ for now in the coastal skies hangar. May switch to KGLS or 7XSO depending on a few things. Figured maybe people met up at KLBX for eats and what not. Right now as I learn the plane I'll probably stay out of high traffic areas.
  12. Hello all, I'm new here to Mooney space. Just signed up for MAPA too. As of yesterday I'm also the new owner of a Mooney M20J and well I'm new to aircraft ownership. Currently a PP working on my Instrument. I'm based out of the Houston Texas area and would love to meet other Mooney owners in the area. Is there a houston area Mooney group? Also welcome any advice.
