  1. I received information that my money is painted with “really white crown” as well as “Mooney blue base”. It seems that this translates to the following white provided by Pratt and Lambert Paint: “033805 REALLY WHITE”. But I am not certain about the blue. It is either “033910 BLUE” or “033926 COLONIAL BLUE”. Any clues? Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk
  2. Hello again! Is there a way to interconnect the Garmin GTN750xi to the KFC150? Maybe I need a Roll Steering Converter? I have 2 GI275s, but 1 is only the engine monitor, and the other one is a stand alone device as backup in case of no vacuum and as well as convenient device in front of the co-pilots eyes as it is mounted far right. So no integration into the KFC-150 Thanks! Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk
  3. Very good thanks! Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk
  4. Forgive me for not being patient enough to search the forum more thoroughly, but I will simply ask: How was the original 1990 paint on my J done? Did they use an acid etch primer and one coat of paint? Also, I need to do some blend in paint repair, so what kind of paints were used? I am concerned about different kinds of paint will not harmonise chemically. Is there anything I could do to avoide electrochemical reactions between steel screws and aluminium? Please advise. Do you actually say Al-Uminium or Alum-Inium? ;-)
  5. I am in the process of preparing a little YouTube Video about it [emoji846] Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk
  6. Are you something like the good soul around here in this forum?[emoji6]. Thanks. For now I will put my money into the essentials, as much as I would love to have LED‘s all around. (I did that in my old cars). But: First things first[emoji3526]. Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk
  7. It was actually those 2 days of hard work PLUS on the third day we discovered the cracked front gear. Soo they had to dismantle it and bring it to the aircraft welding shop. Then they went back, mounted it, replaced the governor again as it was leaking. (I couldn’t attend as I was busy filming the Everest) Then an Italian avionics specialist checked the 1990ies Avionics (22 page report). When I came back I put in a 8.33 transponder and com. And it was eventually flown via Austria and Germany to the avionics shop in the Czech Republic. So in reality it was a little bit more complicated but I wasn’t there to film it. Once the German mechanics were working everything was going smoothly and fast but there was a phase of three or four months of mostly waiting before they had time to pick up the truck and drive down to Italy with all the spare parts.
  8. That’s a valuable information. SoI will put it in the after landing checklist. „Recognition lights - off“ Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk

  12. The shop which did that has a very good reputation in europe and is specialised doing things like that. I am sure that they did it right and judging by the price I payed the also gold plated it [emoji6] Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk
  13. The only surprise was that the front gear was cracked in two stressed areas, most likely due to the hard landings. It was only visible after thorough and very close inspection. The gear was taken off and welded properly, then painted again. I learned that they wouldn’t powder cote it as the powder could hide cracks! Also I learned that EVERYTHING ALWAYS takes longer than expected. Other than that I was very lucky in the naivety I approached the whole project. Nothing really went sideways. Even the fuel tanks were not leaking except that 1 typical screw on the right side in the stepping area of the wing. I also learned that avionics can be very expensive if you want to go with a little bit of a modern equipment. The plane is still in the czech republic for avionics upgrade and I haven’t received the final bill…. I guess this could be the material for another episode… Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk
  14. Now the plane is getting an much needed avionics update to stay IFR-certified and
  15. Haha indeed it was a celebratory Cuban. Also, they are legal here in Europe. Starting that engine was the best moment! I love direct drive engines!
  16. And you are correct, Mr. Peterson! Thanks for your confidence! Irmin Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk
  17. This is exactly the information I was looking for. Thanks a bunch, Case closed! [emoji4] Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk
  18. Please tell me the difference between KA-185 and KA-285. Could I use both of them with my KFC-150? Thanks, Irmin Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk

  21. The original engine was disassembled in 2018 and received new bearings and a new camshaft. Then they conserved it properly and stored it somewhere. As the plane has got only 1200h soo did the engine. So have 1000h left to the recommended overhaul. It was included in the deal. The propeller I bought from Tricity Aero in Canada. 22. Okay, it seems that the inside is much better than the outside. I am a lucky bastard. All the inside is like fresh from the annual. And it actually is as since the last one it flew only 5 flights. All the bearings on the inside are still nicely greased. When we replaced the tires and checked the bearings the grease was still red and fresh. Even the disks were saved. All lightbulbs work including strobe. All instrument except CHT work. Tanks not leaking except one bolt which should be an easy fix. Soon I’ll have another video online!! Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk
  23. Please watch, like and subscribe the first part of my Mooney video series :-) Than you, appreciate it!! Irmin Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk
  24. Any chance for the perspex as well? Irmin Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk
  25. This looks pretty awesome. Mine, unfortunately look like this: I bought it like this, so I need solution. For flying it home, I guess it will be high speed tape… Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk
