  1. Regarding my little Pocket Rocket there are also some (bad) news. Last annual they discovered some corrosion in the secondary spar so we need to take the wing off. According to my tin man there was no obvious reason why the corrosion started from the inside other than maybe bad aluminium quality in the first place. Now, I can not judge this but it sucks as this corrosion is definitely older than a few years. To my untrained eye it looks at least 3 years or older. Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk
  2. Dear Mooney community. I would like to give a little heads up. Unfortunately my wife contracted an aggressive form of Leukemia so I have spent a lot of time with her. Life can be challenging. She underwent a stem cell transplant that saved her life. Now we live from day to day hoping that the disease is not coming back. So, priorities have changed quite a bit for us. 3. It seems the backs of the transducers are covered with a protective plastic. Soo it’s confirmed that they are detachable. Are the backs where the wires are coming out screwed in or is it some kind of a bayonet mount? Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk
  4. Of course it was scary to watch the oil pressure while you’re en route and see it slowly falling down to almost nothing. Yes I declared an emergency but only two minutes later I fortunately compared the old oil pressure gauge with the new one built in the Garmin, GI275, which showed absolutely no problem and temperature also normal. At home I had a look at the sensors and came to the conclusion that the wiring was built in with not enough slack and therefor had to fail sooner or later. Please have a look at the photos attached. Can I replace only the rear part of that pressure sensor? Also the fuel pressure sensor seems in a similar bad wiring situation. I can see already a little bit of blank wire. If it’s possible I would like to replace only two rear parts of the sensor. Please advise if this is possible as it seems to be detachable. Best regards, Irmin Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk
  5. Thank you so much. I wish I would have posted more videos of the process, but now I am not sure it makes sense. For sure I will post a walk around video soon!!
  6. Thank you very much. I really fell in love with that bird. I like to aerodynamic shape, the efficiency, the speed, the reliable engine, the retractable undercarriage and even the colour scheme. I might be hooked. Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk
  7. I am very, very happy about the outcome. What a beautiful and efficient bird❤️
  8. After half a year (!) in the avionic shop I finally brought my MSE home early December. Since then I am ironing out all the minor bugs... Yesterday, the right wing fuel indicator went missing. I basically noticed after the landing that instead of the indicator there is only the hole with some silicone glue left. Every day I have some minor things to fix. Well, I am not complaining. So, please, let me know: Do I have to replace the whole external fuel gauge assembly? Please advise. Irmin PS: I also attach a few photos how I-CAMY looks after polishing :-)
  9. okay, I understand. Mine is average
  10. Hello again. My I-CAMY is still in the shop for Avionics, and I have to say, a bit longer than expected.. (5 month) I just saw the newly done w&b and would like to compare it to other M20J. Would you mind to posting your weight I mean the weight of your Mooney ;-) We are the Mooney-weight watchers ;-)
  11. Also, the panel is almost completely finished. Please take a look: Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk
  12. Hi Guys, my AI indicates a stall speed of 53(!)kts. So even though I was offered similar AIs, it was never the same. I wanted to express my gratitude for everyone who offered to help in finding the correct one. It seems we managed to repair the old one though. So very soon I will get my plane back Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk
  13. It should look like this photo I am attaching
