  1. I feel for the flight schools that are based within those Zones. The NJ one during Trump was pretty rough but if you were on that outer ring you may have been lucky enough to get a cutout. A few still managed to violate the TFR though.
  2. Loud and clear! I just got the overhaul back after 6 months. Being hung now. I bought the plane with intent of going right in for an overhaul. If i recall i was coming out of the climb and had to get a pic of the ground speed. Dialed it back after that. But yes my intent is to keep those temps in check and not run it at 32/3400 either... altitude was low here. I dont remember exactly where but somewhere between 8 and 11k.
  3. Yep... first transition flight. Made the thought of a needed overhaul disappear
  4. Sounds good. I'll make a spread sheet with various MP/RPM settings and the respective % power and keep some notes on respective speeds, temps, etc.. Thanks
  5. Getting ready to break-in an overhauled engine. Lycoming seems to have a fairly straight forward publication to follow. Full power takeoff, 34/2400 shallow climb, get to cruise altitude and set power stay around 75% and watch the temps, oil etc.. For 75% should I be around 29/2400 or 30/2300 or 31/2200? I'm thinking 29/2400 and then drop MP when getting down to the 65% level. Also, does altitude matter? Anything specific I should be watching out for? Any tips?
  6. Took a bit of time but my engine is back and ready for install. Looking forward to getting it off the ground in about 2-3 weeks. All in this will have taken around 6 months... Good news is I'll have the fresh overhaul, new MT 4 blade, and a fresh annual. I did end up going with nickel plating so Ill report back on how that goes to those interested.
  7. Thanks Walt just sent you a PM. I’d be happy to discuss further.
  8. I knew the engine was treated poorly when I bought it. That’s why I decided on an immediate overhaul instead of waiting... turned out to be the right move. Lead time on cylinders caught me by surprise. The MT 4 blade came in quicker...
  9. Yeah I’m looking for full set. Shop Tried AirPower but none in stock. Thanks though. I didn’t expect the overhaul to be this complicated.
  10. No photos yet. They were very slight cracks. Had good compression. Cracks were found during breakdown and now I am engineless...
  11. Very nice! Getting my 4 blade in this week... the overhaul on the engine will delay getting in the air but I’ll be happy to share some performance numbers when I do
  12. I’m new to the Bravo world and decided to overhaul my engine right away. Shop found 3 cracked cylinders so now I am stuck trying to find cylinders. Does anyone know where I can find a set of #05K22177 cylinders or has anyone done an overhaul recently and still have a set of first run takeoffs? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
