thanks that's a bit more than I am ready to chew on just yet but the numbers give me a sense on what I need.

Hello, I lost some of my fasteners on the top cowl, does anyone one which SN I need for the side and the very back ones (they are a bit longer). I am told they are series 2700 on aircraft spruce but cannot find the PN. Thank you

I have an m20K231 and I don't get any CO, in any portion of the flight: taxi, runup, climb, cruse or descent. At some point I was seeing 11PPM while climbing and we found a hole in an air hose. for what is worth

Yes the fuel system was recalibrated after installation. Now I wasn't there when he did. Everything was drained and purged. Also, before my last issue, I had flown about 6 hrs before taking the plane at 15K and just circling the area mostly to rebuild confidence. I also did a cross country to Paso Robles and no issues. that is 50-60 gallons of fuel have gone through the system with zero issues I guess the part that I am the most confused (and it is strictly ignorance on my part) is why the electric boost pump brings the engine back up and then when I switch it off eventually the mechanical pump is okay anyway, we checked everything again over the past week, and we did find the left tank vent was not flushed, see pic, (I was on the left tank) so not sure if there was a partial vent issue. I haven't flown since tho so I will report back. I am also attaching my CHT, at that point I was 4K feet climbing 1Kf/minute, you can see the FF at 24 GPH thank you

Can you guys tell from this pic if mine was removed? I am chasing a partial and intermittent fuel flow loss, I don't see any entry in my log book tho but perhaps from this pic someone can tell.
-
you know. it does feel like vapor lock. I was climbing full power, 1200 FPM, 320 on the CHT and cowl flaps closed, then leveled and as I was leaning boom, FF dropped. and eventually after a few times of using the boost pump it went away.
-
that's a good one, tho it wouldn't explain the boost pump getting the flow back up.

So we got the pump and the flow divider back. I put about 5 hrs on it, climb to 15K few flights around, all was good. Then today i had problems again, here is the chain of events: Sump all the tanks, no water Started the plane all good Run up all good Took of to 12,500 towards modesto -> all good Got to 12,500 feet all good after leveling: Reduced power to 30 MP, RPM to 2400 During the leaning procedure after hitting 11 GPH it suddenly dropped Turned on the boost pump (low) engine came back Turned around towards watsonville and initiated a slow decent (i was just passed the hills at hollister) I then turned off the boost pump, flew for a bit and the problem cameback from the graphs you can see i had 5 fuel flow loss the boost pump (low) always made it came back sometime for a few minutes on the 4th for about 30m the orange line is the fuel flow We fixed the tanks, rebuilt the fuel pump and flow divider. Rebuilt the fuel selector and gascolator. Rebuilt the mags and re place all the sparkplugs. Top end is new, bottom is from 2016 with 800 hrs. Any idea what could cause this? Note: the EGT probe on 5 needs to be replaced (Green) hence is all over the place Thank you

Full Power Climb M20K 231 '84 with Marlin

I actually just had my pump and flow divider rebuilt, my aux tanks were not installed properly and the sump valve was set not in the lowest point. Long story short water got in the system and nothing good came out of it. I am sitting at about 25.5-26 on full climb -

okay so there is a restriction as per the pic attached. it is on the RPM, does anybody do this or just keep it at 2700? -

I'll check tonight but I do remember seeing full power continue rated for 5M but again I will double check. Why does this checklist says 39' instead of 40'? -

Hello, I did some research last night and trying to get some more guidance around full power climb. When I had by V tail the manual asked for reduce power during climb but everyone said to go full power (which indeed kept the engine cooler) I read through this forum that the message is the same, basically in the 80s they had a different idea round engine management and as long as the CHT are below 400-380 full power climb is okay. My question is that on the Marlin supplement I think it says Full power only for 5 minutes. Any suggestions and/or thoughts? I usually take off 40' and 2700 and then back it to 33' 2600. Thank you

thanks! What type of internal failure would make the pump act that way? just curios

looking at my engine logs see pic below, taking off from Hollister, I leveled the plane at about 2000 feet, backed the power to 30'MP and as you can see from the EGT spike and the FF I went from 19GPH to basically 1, at that point in my flying procedure I am still full mixture in. I then hit the boost (low) and the power come in, I flew a bit and shut the boost off, you can see the second spike, I then turned the boost back on and landed at Watsonville. Both the pump and the flow divider have gone for overhauled and we should have them tomorrow.

I had water go through the divider and the pump as I couldn't properly sump the aux tank. Basically I started getting drops of fuel flow on power reductions. We fixed the tanks but now the Flow divider and the pump are out of overhaul. We haven't got the parts back yet but the sentiment is that the flow divider maybe getting stuck and opening up on lower power settings.

Hello, I have been dealing with a series of problems with my plane, notoriously the aux tank were not installed properly and the drain plug was not at the lowest point, water accumulated and ultimately messed up the fuel system. We are going to rebuild the fuel pump and flow divider (this has already happened). My question is based on the POH (m20K231) is the fuel gage before or after the fuel divider activates meaning, if the diaphragm doesn't open when fuel pressure is built, would I see flow or not? thank you
-
We are sending the pump and the flow distributor to D&G Supply. Hopefully a quick turn around.
-
yeah defiantly for the fuel flow, I have 2, the OEM + the G2 they both match. I don't fully understand how the mechanical pump works but I was told they usually just failed they don't fluctuate but maybe one some here knows what's up

oh yeah...when the engine quits a life has gone....you only want that to happen on the ground
