  1. Hello, I realize this is an old post, but I’m experiencing the exact same issue with my CHT 3. My baffle is completely tight, I don’t think I have any leak. I came across your post. I’m not seeing any gaps behind the back of the #3 cylinder. Would you be able to share some pictures to help give me a better idea how you made a gap. I’d greatly appreciate it. Thank you!
  2. Hello, If you were wondering why. Watch this. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I actually did a G3X touch, and the shop changed the original transducer to Electronic International. According to them, you don’t need that much of adjustment on the K factor but it’s had to believe. I think mine is off by 5-7% I assume you’ve installed GFC 500 and GTN navigator. How do you like your setup ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. When you upgrade to Garmin G3X touch or G500 TXI with engine data, Garmin has its own transducer which you have to replace. From factory it has a K factor of 76000. I was trying to see if anybody where able to play around with the K factor for this particular setup to get a true Fuel Flow reading on a M20J. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Hello guys, Looking for a K factor value on a M20J with this particular setup. If you would kindly share your inputs I greatly appreciate it. Thank you Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Thank you so much! I’ll send him an email [emoji120] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Steve, Don’t get me wrong. 750txi or even 530w is wonderful. I was trained with them till recently with my experience with IFD. On IFD 540, 1) you have GO reference when you’re entering flight plane or you have amendment to your route. It’s so convenient. 2) Go reference frequency with the names. 3) when you’re on a map it shows all your crossing altitude for non-precision approaches! 4) you get to any page with in 1-2 click. 5) FMS system it’s much easier. With 750TXI, you have to change pages each times you want to change or edit a flight plan, obstacle, and more. IFD is not like that! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Yes the cost is about 4K more. I have always been a Garmin guy. Had a 530w before. Few months ago I tried the IFD trainer apps and I felt in love with it! Absolutely stunning comparing to GTN 750 which I know how to operate as well Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I’m in the process of installation of ( G3X touch, G5, GFC500 autopilot, IFD 540 ) and i keep reading many forms that you will not get the full functionally of GFC 500 autopilot with IFD. Apparently there is a issue with the VNAV function and on the GPS approach right after FAF the airplane will deviate one or two dot to the right or left. Unfortunately when i call Avidyne to confirm with the tec support, they cant assist me with this intermigration. Dealers or installers don't know either! I love the IFD product and is a excellent unit for those who truly fly IFR. But if this is the case I've to change to Garmin 750TXI. I don't know how can we confirm this and who do you need to reach in Avidyne to confirm! We are buying their products but with poor support! Please anyone with the same setup please share your thoughts. Greatly appreciate it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. That’s what I also heard. No improvement on the J. But pre J, yes! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Anyone recently removed the stock exhaust on a Mooney M20J for PowerFlow? I would like to hear your thoughts on the upgrade and performance! Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Wow, I’m sure I got a J 1983. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. That’s how I look at it when I set the budget for the installation of GFC 500! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Don’t get me wrong. This is excellent setup and the flight director it’s not a huge thing for pilots trained to fly with old steam gauges and without any of this stuff! But I got to a point of my life that I like to have more redundancy and safety. Garmin GFC 500 autopilot has a lot to offer in my opinion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I was leaning towards Aspen and the EA1000 last year before I install my G5 HSI. This would be a good system but the autopilot wouldn’t have a flight director. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I wouldn’t know. I already have a G5 HSI, so for me another G5 Ai is more symmetrical Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Yes, they are the same! KAP or KCP 150 requires vacuum system. The autopilot works with your Bendix King Horizon Gyro. There is a module that you can install and remove your vacuum system, but I think it only works with Aspen. It’s about 2k for that module alone which transfer analog data to digital. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I wanted to remove my vacuum system and install a second G5. KAP 150 will not work. Loosing your vacuum system in the soup is scary, I’ve been there Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Sell it on eBay. About 18 month a go the flight computer KAP 150 was fixed by Mid-Continent Instruments and it comes with FAA authorization for the repair. The whole system works excellent. Never had any issues with the servos. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Wondering if the G5 ADI or even GFC 500 provides Altitude alerts. Referring to altitude callouts like "500 feet" etc. or when you reach minimum on a autopilot coupled approach? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  22. I’m sure the servos got to be a lot better than Benedix Kings. Garmin got a excellent customer support and the system has two years warranty! Things can always go wrong but for redundancy I think GFC 500 is a lot better and more safer! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Thank you for your impute. Did you or anyone installed a TOGA switch with the GFC 500? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Thank you very much! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. That’s what I hear! You’re flying a J ? May I ask how much extra was the yaw damper ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
