  1. I do not have the POH or performance charts at hand. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you, Robert
  2. I was there over the weekend. I took the cowling off and verified that the field wire was connected and the belt wasn’t broken. Had to leave the plane at HND as both of us had to be back home. I’m hoping to find someone in the area that could troubleshoot and repair the airplane. The maintenance shop on the field hasn’t returned a call as of yet. I feel there may be rules that keep outside mechanics out. I figured somebody would say something about me taking the cowling off at the tie down on Sunday, but so far so good. Any ideas?
  3. My friend’s M20J is AOG due to charging system issues, likely an alternator. The Pt 145 Repair Station on the field is busy. Does anyone know of another solution? Thank you, Robert
  4. Comes with rack, backplate, cables, and laptop to update NavData. As removed from my Cardinal.
  5. My thought is do I replace/repair the existing seal, or is there a better solution? Possibly OEM or aftermarket seal and adjust/re rig the door?
  6. Currently installed is a Bob Fields inflatable seal that is not working. I could replace it with like kind, or a non inflatable seal. Suggestions? I tried to search this topic but the thread with 72 posts kept hanging up. Thank you Robert
  7. New to the area. Any suggestions? thx Robert
  8. I had Penn Yan overhaul my IO360 2 years ago. That was good. They used new Lycoming cam and lifters in the rebuild. That was bad. The cam failed @ approximately 200 hrs, necessitating a tear down and replacement. Penn Yan warranted the engine and freight. It took about 5 mos for them to reimburse me for labor, prop flushing, and governor overhaul, all due to metal from the failed cam lobe. They said they were waiting on reimbursement from Lycoming. I think there is a huge problem getting the correct steel for these components. Maybe machining errors too, but it seems to point to metallurgy. Robert
  9. Anyone know of one? M20J thanks Robert
  10. I just replaced the throttle cable on M20J due to becoming difficult to operate smoothly. I sent old one to McFarlane Aviation and they built a new one based on specs from old one. Outstanding service. They turned it around in 3 days after receiving old cable. Now very smooth. I did buy their Vernier assist cable. Still getting used to that part of it. Robert
