According to the parts manual, there are two different size Camlocs that attach the one piece belly pan to the belly of a J model. I’ve ordered all of the camlock and now I’m trying to figure out which size goes where. Basically the pattern for the shorter ones versus the longer ones. Does anybody know?

Does anyone have a 24/28 V power supply used to power the aircraft via the aux. power port so the avionics can be run without wearing down the battery while in the hangar that they would be willing to sell?

Update, the belly pan came off and the chain was sitting there with the connector link missing its retainer lock thingie. With the help of this group I was able to find a replacement connector link on Amazon. I showed it to my mechanic and he said that will work perfectly. I got four of them for five dollars. It has to be the cheapest aircraft part I’ve ever bought. I have three now available for sale at $250 each if anybody needs one. -
I lost my manual trim on the last flight. After dropping the belly pan today we found the chain which was suppose to be attached to the manual trim wheel. It was in the belly. The master link was missing the “clips” the lock it together. Please see the photos. Tomorrow I will start calling around to find a new chain/master link but thought I’d check here to see af anyone has one you are willing to sell. I’d be happy with just a new master link but will buy whatever you may have. The part number is 880043-501. It’s for a 1989 J model. Thank you.

First…. Thanks for all the help with my free spinning trim wheel. A+P will be looking at it this weekend. Thinks it might just be a broken roll pin in the sprocket/gear. If so, easy fix. Moving on, I have electric speed brakes. Yesterday they deployed twice without me touching the button. They deployed completely on their own. I pulled the circuit breaker so they are now deactivated. Any thoughts on what might cause them to self-deploy? Maybe a faulty switch?

I know. There are worse places to be grounded! I have a 1989 M20J. It has electric trim. Today on a flight the electric trim worked fine as it always does but the manual trim wheel between the two front seats appears to be completely disconnected. It just spins freely when I try to move it with my hand. I feel no resistance. It does not turn in conjunction with the electric trim, which still operates fine and moves the elevator. I don’t know if this has anything to do with it but I also have a Garmin GFC 500. It drives the electric trim and that still works perfectly. The problem is strictly with the manual trim wheel spinning freely. Has anyone had any experience with this but more importantly, I’m not a mechanic and I need someone in the area of Daytona Beach Florida, who can help me remedy this. So, this is really a two-part question. What may be causing this and two, any recommendations for a Mooney savvy mechanic in central Florida?

I have a G3X, GTN 750, 345r remote transponder. The other day I was flying in clear skys with 20 mile viz. There were some broken clouds above me but NO VISIBLE MOISTURE anywhere to be seen. Nevertheless, the nexrad weather on the 750 and the G3X both showed light and moderate rain. In the photo I was flying through an area of light and dark green but there was no rain on my aircraft or anywhere in sight for at least 20 miles. This was not because of weather that was old. It was less then 5 minutes old and these phantom reading happened for about 100 miles. Do I have a problem with my equipment of is this a different problem. Before I had the Garmin equipment I fly for years with a Stratus for weather and never experienced this.

I have a G3X in my Mooney with a Garmin EIS displaying engine parameters on the G3X. I need the part number for the oil temperature sensor. Can anyone help me with the correct part number for this sensor? Tks!

I have a G3X and a GNC 750. On start up the GNC 750 would always ask me to input fuel on board and fuel flow. The G3X would never ask about fuel as it received information from the fuel sender units. Today the G3X on start up asked about fuel on board and fuel flow. What might have caused that to change?

Today, after landing and taxing to the terminal, my oil temperature gauge flashed red and went full scale. See photo. A few seconds later it went back to green and showed normal oil temperature. A few seconds later it went red and full scale, then back to green. Called my mechanic and told him the issue. He said it’s safe to fly…. Must be a sensor or electronic glitch. I flew home, landed, taxied to the hangar with no more anomolies. Any idea what might have caused the temporary “false” reading?

SOLD. Selling King KFC-150 Autopilot which was removed from a Mooney M20J model, 28 volts. I bought this system about two years ago as a backup for the KFC-150 in my J, just in case any of my autopilot components failed. This system has the altitude preselect option. I never had to use any component as my AP never needed a component swap. Two months ago I sold that J (N57540) so I don’t need this AP any longer. I bought it from a chap I met on Mooneyspace who said it was working when removed for a panel upgrade. I can’t guarantee everything works, only what I was told when purchased. What you see is what you get. If anything is missing (not in the photos) I don’t have it. I know a couple of brackets are missing. I’m located at KOWK, Norridgewock, Maine. I’ll be happy to FaceTime with any interested buyers so you know I’m not a scammer. $750 includes shipping anywhere in the lower 48 or pickup at KOWK.

I have a GTN 750 and a GTX touch in my Mooney. When I fill up with fuel, the fuel quantity gauges which show on my GTX touch automatically show full fuel in both tanks. In other words, I don’t have to tell the system that I just re-fueled. My GTN 750 has a fuel mode that allows me to enter how much fuel I have on board and what my fuel flow is. My question is to these two systems talk to each other? When I fill up with fuel, should my Garmin 750 automatically know that or do I always have to enter these numbers manually. And, will the Garmin 750 read the actual fuel used just like the GTX does or does it just estimate using the fuel flow figures I plug in?

This is in my friends 1981 M20K ”Crazy analog right tank fuel gauge!! If I push and hold the cowl flap knob firmly closed the right fuel gauge reads accurate fuel quantity! As soon as I release the pressure, it will open an inch or two and the gauge reads inaccurate. Not sure if cowls flaps are closing completely in flight, maybe partially with wind pressure, or staying open in flight. They close and open on the ground. So, why will my gauge read correctly if I keep pressure on the cowl flap knob in the cabin but fluctuate and even go to zero when I release the pressure?

I’m confused. Please help me sort this out. This is my panel: Garmin GTN-750 Touchscreen WAAS GPS / Nav / Com. -Garmin GTX-345R Remote ADS-B Transponder (In and Out). -Garmin GMA-35C Remote Audio Panel / Intercom. -Garmin GTR20 Second Comm -Garmin FlightStream 210 Bluetooth Interface. -Garmin G3X Touch with EIS -Garmin G5 -Garmin GFC500 My confusion is who talks via Bluetooth to who? 1. Specifically, should my IPad (ForeFlight) connect to the G3X or the Gtx 345R to receive traffic and weather? But to be able to transfer flight plans it must be connected to the G3X, correct? Can I somehow have my iPad receive weather, traffic AND share flight plans? 2. To play music to all four seats, my iPhone must connect to the GMA 35c, correct? 3. Since most of the components have their own Bluetooth, is there any value to having the Fs 210 or is it superfluous? Thanks

The defroster’s in my 1989 J model are not working. I thought the problem was the ducks were missing, so there was no way for hot air to get to the windows. The shop said this: “Defrost INOP. Corrective Action: Re-rigged small "wire" from butterfly valve to limit switch. Ops ck good, however blower motor is very loud.” I haven’t picked up the plane or spoken to them yet to ask any questions but why would a defrost valve have a limit switch? And, if you have a blower on your defrost is it very loud?

My new to me 1989 J is 24 volt. There is a wire/connector in the hat shelf area with the standard quick disconnect plug you see on all 12 volt trickle chargers . I can’t find any 24 volt trickle chargers with that connector. Does anyone know of a 24 volt trickle charger that uses this connector?

I have the inflatable door seals too, as you described. You turn to the right to lock the air in and then you turn to the left to let the air out. These bladder pumps don’t work the same way. There’s a knob to push to deflate the bladders, but that knob when turned right or left, just spins, it doesn’t do anything to lock the air in.

so…. What I thought were pumps for an inflatable blow up girl turns out are pumps for lumbar support. Now that I learned that, when I pump them, the air just blows out of the hole at the top of the pump. How are they suppose to work? The silver button on the bottom of the pump is a release valve to deflate the bladders but it does not turn and lock to keep the air in.
