Student pilot considering buying a 1960's vintage mooney

Hi Gerard, Welcome on board. I was still busy on my PPL ( at the ripe age of 56) when I purchased a 1977 M20J. I could not get enough of flying my mooney. Just make sure you have a knowledgeable instructor for the mooney. Follow check lists diligently and plan ahead on every flight. Do not let the plane get ahead of you when flying. You will fall in love with the plane. Enough said. Regards Andy -

Hi All I came across a 'Excel spreadsheet' for a mooney some time ago that calculates the correct C of G after the weights ect, has been entered. Does anyone have a copy of this spreadsheet? Regards, Andy

Hi Mooniacs, I have recently purchased a M20J 1977 model. When I went to fetch the aircraft from the AMO and he pointed out that my strobe light on the wings are missing the electric module (not sure of the correct name) that operates the lights is missing. He mentioned that only the wires are in place. Does any one know what this unit is called and where I can purchase a new one. Regards Andy

Hi Mooniacs, My pride and joy has a leak on the exhaust slip joint (port side). After a flight I notice some discolourment on the left cowl flaps. Is there a product I could use to apply into the joint to stop the gas leak. Regards, Andy

What I really wish to replace is the round louvered fitting with the adjusteble knob. Some of the louvers on the existing fittings are broken.

Gents, I have just purchased a 1977 M20J and am looking to replace the overhead air ducts,ect. Any help of where to get replacements will be appreciated. Regards Andy
