  1. So my Mooney 231 Fuel Flow Sensor is operating radically. The analog gauge bounces from 22+ gal down to 10 gal and all around. The same input is tied to my JPI 830, which mirrors the analog which in this case, bounces around as well. I had it replaced, and lasted about 3 hours before the same condition repeated itself. Bouncing around all over the map. However this time, it would radically read for about an hour in flight, then suddenly straighten out and read correctly. I have been asking around, a friend of mine who is a mechanic, tells me he has seen this twice before. It was a result of the fuel flow sensor being installed "backwards". Anyone else have any experience with this concern?
  2. Can anyone provide any input on a 231 Turbo Performance? I just purchased an M20k 231. Great flying machine, but a lot going on in the cockpit. She's loaded out with all the bells and whistles but curious as to MP at or around 11,500. If my MP is set to 30MP and my Dif Temp is -55, should I run at 27MP? How low can one go on the MP before it's "too cold" or is there such a thing.......?
  3. It's amazing what someone can learn on the internet. The last posting in the this thread was May 24th, 2012. Here it is March 22nd, 2014, nearly 2 years later. Anyway, flying my Mooney M20C today, I noticed an unusual amount of oil on the left side of the aircraft, coming from the cowling area. Following a panic attack and sure I could find something fast to fix once I decided to disaasemble the hoods, I pretty much found nothing. Then I read the below thread and remembered I thought it would be smart, somewhat proactive to fill the oil reservour with well, 7 quarts of oil on the dip stick instead of the 5.5 to 6 max. Guess where the oil went...........?
