  1. I found a tear in the rubber boot on my M20F earlier this year. Sent an email to LASAR, discovered that I couldn't buy a replacement boot but could get an exchange unit which they had in stock. I followed up with a phone call and an exchange unit was on the way to Australia on the same day. The package took longer to get from USA to Melbourne than to go the last 600 km to me but it arrived about a week after it left LASAR. It took me about an hour to remove the old one and install the replacement. Sent the old one back to LASAR and they refunded the value of the old unit. Great service from those guys, and my step now retracts fully.
  2. I've just redone the panels on my '67 F. In the interests of economy, the only new instrument is a Garmin G5. Most of the work was rearranging the old instruments into something more conventional. My local avionics guys custom made the panel to suit a mix of instruments that could cope with not being exactly vertical and a couple that had to be vertical. It was still not a cheap job and cost a few avcoins (that's the aviation equivalent of a bitcoin). Here are the before and after photos of the left panel. I had the right side redone to match but didn't install anything new apart from replacing an ancient Collins VHF with a new Trig TY96 and made only a few minor rearrangements. I'm surprised and very pleased with the changes and how much easier it is to fly in IMC now.
  3. Have you sold the DM 700 yet? I'm looking for one to go into a '67F. OzM20F
