rob Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 After answering the number of hours I fly per year by clicking the mouse a few times, I thought I'd plug the website I use to keep an electronic copy of my logbook. www.Freepilotlog.com I am in no way associated with the site and I came across it by searching one day well over a year ago. It handles everything I need and comes complete with some very hand sort/search functions. Being that it's web-based, it's accessible from anywhere, which is nice for me. Anyone else using something similar?
MattS Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 Yup, I use logshare.com and I absolutely love it. I like the currency reminders. The only thing is I forget to fill out my real logbook and usually spend an hour or so and a couple of beers catching up. Not a bad way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
Flybeech21 Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 I use Safelog and am very happy with it. I just print out the logbook pages in Jeppessen format and sign them for my hardcopy. I was concerned with having electronic logs as opposed to traditional logbook for my interview with CitationShares, now known as CitationAir. They were very impressed with the electronic format and even commented that it took them 25% of the time to go through them as opposed to traditional logs. Electronic logs are the way to go.

Jeff_S Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 In case you haven't noticed, LogShare has gone commercial. I suppose it had to happen at some point, because they apparently weren't getting any donations. But now to use LogShare you have to belong to WeatherMeister, which is yet another weather and flight planning service that I don't need. The price is not inconsequential, with a basic charg at $4.95/month. They are giving former LogShare users a month to try it out for free, but I'll be seeking another alternative. I'll try Rob's suggestion.
flight2000 Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 Glad I exported the data while it was still free. I was able to upload it into freepilot.com without to much trouble. Not as pretty, but it's functional.

Jeff_S Posted January 10, 2010 Report Posted January 10, 2010 I imported into freepilotlog.com yesterday and it went mostly okay. For some reason it double entered all my approaches, so I must have screwed up the data assignments and didn't catch it. I haven't found a way to delete all and start over. Also, freepilotlog doesn't have a category to record Solo time. While I realize that once you've got your PPL this is less significant, I've always tracked it out of habit. I haven't found a workaround for that yet.
