i'm noticing fuel stains on the lower cowling of the bravo. It appears as though it's coming from the hose connected to the sniffle valve in the intake basket. I've also noticed occasional evaporated fuel residue drips on the ground after shut down - i usually get the drips on the ground after shorter flights of less than an hour.

I replaced the sniffle valve with another off of a previous engine but it hasn't seemed to remedy the issue.  I've also notice that the original valve, when left to fully dry out on my desk after disassembly/cleaning, seems to operate much better when operated via suckin and blowin by yours truly.

when i initially disassembled the original it had evaporated fuel residue which seemed to inhibit proper operation.  even after cleaning it it seemed as though the phenolic wafer inside wouldn't always seat properly given a good suck or blow.

My question is, if this thing isn't seating properly in cruise under positive pressure from the turbo will it leak enough to cause the right fwd gear door to get crudded up within 3-4 hr flights?  I can almost guarantee the answer is yes and that a new sniffle valve will take care of the issue, i just want to make sure i'm not overlooking a potentially larger problem, like a fuel servo issue.

I’ll bite….normally aspirated - the sniffle allows excess fuel (flooded engine) to drain when shutdown.  When running the ball seats and prevents air intake.  For a turbo’d engine I don’t know.  Is it possible your mechanical fuel pump is leaking?  The hose is in a similar location.  Also examine the fuel lines and connections carefully.
