I’ve been presented with the unique opportunity and now have the ability to upgrade to a glass panel Ovation in the very near future.  To make this happen I would have to first sell my current plane.


 I’ve been wanting to upgrade to a long body glass panel  Mooney for some time; however, I  don’t want to buy an Ovation so bad that I’m going to offer my plane at a fire sale price.  I really like the fuel efficiency of the K model...but like the newer glass panel Ovations better then my current steam gauge set up.  I know I could upgrade the panel and might wind up doing so if I don’t sell the plane say within the next 45 days.


So up for sale is a very nice and recently refurbished 1982 Mooney M20K 231. I’m not going to advertise on any web site as right now and don’t want brokers calling me.  I want around 95K for the plane and WILL NOT go much much lower as I would just as soon keep it based on all the money I put into it this year between the annual and interior at Aero Comfort.  Pictures are posted on Mooney Space under 201 FLYER.

Thanks Parker...You know I’m not sure if it's priced right but I’m not concerned about that.  I’m one of those guys that washes AND waxes it after every flight. You could show up to my hanger at any time and will NEVER find as much as a bug on any leading edge surface.  Sufficed to say I’m sort of emotionally attached to it and selling it might actually bring a tear to my eye so the price is what it is J

I agree.  Maxwell basically had a blank check this year.  He flew it seven times just to get the rigging perfect!  It flies great right now.  I hate that first year of ownership where you find yourself fixing the little dificiences the previous owner didn’t bother correcting for whatever reason.  I almost forgot to mention, while I had the interior out I had Maxwell run magnets through the longerlon tubes to insure there was no internal corrosion to the tubular steal structure.  He said it was good to go!  I know that's always a concern to folks when buying a plane

One more thing, which has come up during some calls, I’ve been getting.  The total airframe time based on logbook entries is 2800 hrs but that’s always been based on the HOBBS.  This plane does not have a tach timer on the MP gauge.  I’m not sure if most M20K’s are like this or if it’s something specific to my bird.  In any event one flight in the plane and you’ll realize that the HOBBS spins really fast.  So I would guesstimate the total actual time to be much much lower then the 2800 hours of HOBBS time. A little over an hour in the air and your looking at almost two hours on the HOBBS!
