Hello,  when your A&P makes new oil lines are they required to do any type of testing before installing?  Is there a FAR for this.  Thank you so much for the help.

I don't believe so. I'm speaking only from experience as a diy who works under supervision, my IA has never worried about testing them.  You do realize that the AN Aeroquip or Stratoflex lines we use for oil are rated at ~3,000 psi, and what does your oil pressure run at?  ~60psi?  they are WAY overkill.  The assembly methods for the lines are fairly idiot proof, so very little danger there as well.

i. Hydraulic System Pressure Test.  When a flexible hose has been repaired or overhauled using existing hardware and new hose material, before the hose is installed on the aircraft it is recommended that the hose is tested to at least 1.5 system pressure.  A new hose can be operationally checked after it is installed in the aircraft using system pressure.

There are some detailed guides online that cover the potential problems. Be sure to mark where the nut comes to on the hose before screwing the center nipples in.  There have been cases of the hose backing out of the nut as the nipple is screwed in and they is no way to tell unless the hose is marked.
