MooneyBob Posted March 25, 2015 Report Posted March 25, 2015 I have sent out my seat belts out for rewebbing to aircraftseatbelts.com. Good price and nice color selection they have. I have received them back today but I was disappointed that my shoulder harness didn't get repaired. There is red tag attached saying they can't do that because of Alert Service Bulletin. What is that about? What can be done about this? Thank you.
jpjp Posted March 25, 2015 Report Posted March 25, 2015 The service bulletin is due to failure of the shaft in the inertia reel. The replacements or repaired units will have a shaft that is made of a different material.

jpjp Posted March 25, 2015 Report Posted March 25, 2015 The only approved repair center would be Pacific Scientific. I sent them four of these units off of a Piper last year and was floored by the pricing and lead time. Unless something has changed be prepared.

Those pieces of metal are ridiculously expensive.
