  1. Living in Mississippi I must have some form of air conditioning so people will fly with me and me with myself. I have a 1998 M20J that has all possible avionics, G600, GTN750 and 650, KFC150, Gad43, Skywatch, EDM830, Flightstream 210, etc. etc. But no air since that is not an option. I have owned two Ovation 2GX with air so I am spoiled. Haven't flown in 4 years so just starting back. Spoke with Bob at B-Kool and he said his units require 5 amps but we couldn't find the amps from the cigarette socket in the manuals. He told me if it was a problem that we could do a work around or I could return the box but just wondered if anyone could help with the amps from the socket and if you all are using one and does it work. Still cool here now but the weather will get hot quick. Thanks for your response. JVanceCPA
  2. Well, I realized I never finished the odyssey of the inop speed brake. Sent them back to Precise Flight. Spoke with them personally, very nice, and found out that the motor in the logic controller and the left brake were "fried". Precise Flight fixed the problem and advised me to exercise them several times to see if there might be a wiring problem. They said they would warrant them after this fix but only fix them one more time if it is a wiring problem within the aircraft. I have flown the plane several times testing the brakes a lot and everything seems fine now. Hopefully, just one of those gremlins that happened. Anyway, up and going again. Thanks.
  3. No. Do an in flight mag check. It is explained well on the the BeechTalk website.
  4. Dave at Precise Flight suggested swapping the brakes to see if it was the brake motor. After reversing the brakes, the left side brake still did not deploy. Therefore, he felt like it was probably something in the Logic Controller. So....remove the brake boxes and controller and ship back to Precise Flight. So now we will see what happens next. Having plates overnighted to cover holes in wings so plane will be airworthy. JVanceCPA
  5. Quote: allsmiles This same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. I called precise flight and spoke to Dave. He handles sb tech support. He gave me some pointers as to how to try and diagnose the problem before removing them. It happens to be a simple fix but I plan to send them both in for an oh anyway. You may want to call them. Dave was very helpful. You can pull them out yourself and send them in. It would be a good idea to cover the opening with a plate if you plan to fly though!
  6. I just wanted some advice on one of my brakes not deploying! I do thank everyone for input. Jvancecpa
  7. Thanks John. Is that a good place for service? Do you get all your Bravo work done there? I need a good, fairly local shop to keep my bird healthy. As you know, Mooneys seem to be a rare breed. I might get to the airport tomorrow and they both might pop up. Who knows! Thats again for the info. You head to Tupelo sometime let me know and we'll have some coffee. Jud
  8. I must have not made a clear post. One of my speed brakes went inop! The right deploys and the left doesnot. Any suggestions as to what I should possibly look at as to fixing the problem. I love the speed brakes and use them all the time. It's just one of the will not deploy. I am flying home tomorrow and will leave them stowed and just monitor my speed. But I am anal with regards of everything working properly on my plane and thought someone might have a suggestion as to a quick fix before I fly tomorrow. Thanks
  9. On a trip yesterday and after landing checked speed brake deployment. Right goes up and left does not. Worked on descent. 2008 Ovation2GX is airplane. Any suggestions as to solution to problem? Thanks
  10. I withdraw my prior comment.
  11. Quote: GeneS Pixies did the drilling, that's why it's call the pixie hole, duh.
  12. Gene, Do you have Gamis or the original injectors?
  13. Who did the drilling? My mechanic says that if he was to drill the hole he could get in trouble because it is not authorized by Mooney, blah, blah, blah. Is the hole 1" in diameter and how difficult is it to do? I will pick my plane up on the 30th of November and will fly it back home which will be 4 hours of flight. I will monitor the cht on #5 closely. If I get a large differential in temps, then I will do something and it looks like the pixie hole is the way to go. Thanks for help.
  14. Thank you sir, very much.
  15. Gene, Is that a picture that you posted? All I am seeing is a box with an X in it. Is everyone else seeing something that I am not? If so, could you pm it to me or repost. Thank you. Jud
  16. Anybody.....picture of "pixie holes"?
  17. Man I sure would like to see those "pixie" holes!!
  18. Please on the picture of the holes. Just bought 2008 Ovation but had a 2005 Ovation2GX and I remember #5 always running hot and sometimes in the 425-450 range. Thanks for the help.
