  1. Well aware. It's more the wait to get them rather than the price even though its still a tough pill to swallow. Is there a specific model Mooney that uses these? Based on the Barry fitment list it doesn't appear so? I have a Giles 202 aerobatic airplane that uses them and my searching on the net led me here to this post.
  2. Any chance you still have these mounts and would still sell them?
  3. I can't really see that happenening. I was able to send them a GX55 for overhaul a year ago and that thing is ancient!
  4. Yup. My plan is to just take the KLN 94 and the one king com out, move the audio panel to where the com radio is now and install a 430. Nate
  5. Thanks guys, I'm looking this plane at the moment. Definately a nice panel, fit and finish of the glare sheild needs a rework though. We'll see what happens! Nate
  6. This is on a '67 F model. It is composit. Was this a one off or was there a company making these at one point? Possibly out of a later model mooney? Nate
  7. I don't have a maint. manual available to me just yet. (nor an airplane yet either, working on it) If grabbing the tail from the bottom of the rudder and lifting up (not hard), how much play is acceptable in the trim system if any at all? thanks, Nate
  8. Quote: JimR If I am not mistaken it is a Southwest Texas Aviation, Inc. 201 windshield conversion. Not a true OEM 201 windshield. The difference being the 201 cowl deck assembly, which it lacks. Makes for a little less "clean" installation, in my opinion, but it preserves at least some of the rear avionics access of the original vintage Mooney windshield installation. Jim
  9. Ok thanks guys, i dunno why but at some angles it doesn't look like it to me, thats why I figured I would just get a definative answer here, and leave me out of it. Nate
  10. This is just the one piece replacement and not the 201 windsheild mod correct? Nate
  11. I hold an A&P certificate. Nate
  12. I've never flown a plane where the no prime, full throttle, closed mixture method didn't work. This was the only way the notoriously hard hot starting IO-320's on my twin comanche would start. Be quick to throw the mixture in and the throttle out confidently and all will seem like a normal start. Nate
  13. Quote: DaV8or Also, you might want to call the various companies and see which closure mods are actually available right now. Lots of Mooney mods you see on people's websites aren't actually in production, or on back order.
  14. Either one is going to hit you with a landing fee they claim is non waivble and imposed by the airport. I've only been to signature and its a nice fbo with expectable service. Nate
  15. I did some searching and came up with a LASAR closure Vs. ARI 201 style cowl mod topic, but not quite what i was looking for. My question is, is there any difference from the SWTA lower cowl closure and the one LASAR sells? They are both about the same price. Nate
  16. Thanks guys. Getting closer... Nate
  17. Aircraft in question is a '65 M20C that im looking at. The airplane has the new style mooney yokes in it. I asked the owner if a 337/field approval was done for the yoke swap and his reply was "Mooney said a 337 was not needed to install the yokes." Is this true? What is the usual procedure for upgrading the yokes on Mooneys? I swapped out yokes on my twin commanche, and needed a field approval, however in that instance I was using Piper Navajo yokes.... Nate
  18. Is that article online?
  19. Yes Carysoam I'm on the east coast. Its a very nice plane, but im in agreement with whats been said, my offer would be less than 50K, and that conversation may be a very short one. I may give the broker a call to see whats up. Nate
  20. Would like to get a couple opinions about what this aircraft is worth real market value. I have a number in mind, and I have also looked at the book numbers and would like to compare. http://www.controller.com/listingsdetail/aircraft-for-sale/MOONEY-M20C-RANGER/1970-MOONEY-M20C-RANGER/1194063.htm? Thanks, Nate
  21. I'm over the whole damage history thing. I'm somewhat new here, I have been on many forums, and have never seen so much arguement over the topic before. Its almost as rediculous as the arguements going on in the government. Damage history, LOP, running over square (not so much here but big deal in the piper forums), fuel bladders, ect ect u guys really get fired up/stubburn about stuff here. Nate
  22. Sorry the above post was actually by me, NateZ. If there is a number I could reach you at please post or email it to me. #forumproblems
  23. Thanks guys. Hopefully will be able to see it on monday or tues, the only way to get the real deal on it. I think its gonna be a bust anyway, other details are potential negatives on this one, but its interesting and a good excuse to do some flying to see it! Nate
