  1. I have been trying to get some performance numbers for our 1961 m20b, I haven't had a lot of luck. All I've found are the V speeds and a basic checklist from a early m20c, I would like some info for weight and balance, take off and landing distance with different loads ect. The basic things that would be found in a POH... If I understand correctly the older birds arn't required to have a POH, all I currently have is an owners manual that really doesn't have much information. What year of aircraft require POH's? I am guessing I will have to use an early m20c POH. Please advise...
  2. Jose, Are you installing it on the door or the fuselage?
  3. Has anyone went with the seal that is applied to the fuselage instead of the door? It is less expensive. I can only think of one possibly negative point to doing this... It could get ripped or snagged upon entry or exit. What are your thoughts?

Although, I have been in your shoes with my plane stuck at a foreign shop away from home. Makes a man pay absurd amounts of money for simple repairs and parts.
  5. I just did a reseal on my new (to me) m20b left wing... I never want to to that again
  6. As a new mooney owner, this site is great! Just what I had been looking for. Can I suggest a classified section.
  7. You are one sick puppy!
  8. Yep, First all metal Mooney! This is my first airplane and I must say I am glad I went with a mooney. My last flight I averaged 132 knts between east and west bound legs, while getting around 8 gph. I was flying between 10,500 and 12,000. I must admit, although she is fun and a great first plane I'm already guilty of looking and dreaming of much newer and faster mooneys. I'll be happy to repost them when I'm done reading, Thanks!!!
  9. David, I just recently purchased a 1961 m20b and have around 15hrs in her now. She isn't the most gorgeous or the fastest, but I'm loving her non the less. I'd like to read each of those books. Are you selling or passing them along to share? Please let me know, I'm interested either way.
  10. My M20B is the first plane I have flown with vernier throttle and I don't like it. She also has a push pull mixture control that I don't care much for, makes it harder to fine tune. Perhaps I could just swap the controls... thats my 2cents
  11. This is interesting as I was wishing someone had a gps to rent, when I needed to fly my (new to me) plane across the country to get her home. I ended up being able to borrow a 496 from someone. Take your time and do some market research... Maybe you could purchase just a couple and give it a try. Then if the demand isn't there you could always sell them for a minimal loss.
  12. Mitch, thanks for the advice I will check into it.
  13. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mooney-m20-201-cowl-mod_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem19ba4ecb46QQitemZ110499908422QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories I have a M20B and would like this mod if nothing else at least for appearances. From what I've read above I also would need a new backing plate and spinner? I currently have a mccauley prop if that makes any differece. Can anyone give me some advice before I plunk down $750...
  14. Bryan, after having your plane back from the painter for awhile now, are you still happy with their paint job? Do they completly strip all the old paint and do the prep work for under $10k? We just bought a m20b that could use some love in the future. thank you
  15. Simply stunning! We just purchased a M20B and your mods are making me envious. I can only imagine what this must be costing$$$
