  1. Greetings! I'm brand new to the forum. I'm currently a Cessna 140 owner, I love my little old taildragger but she's no longer fitting the mission. I fly her and a 180hp Skyhawk that is a club plane. But with changes in life I'd like my personal bird to have 4 relatively useful seats and be able to get there faster than driving! I've flown my lil 140 all over the country but it's more out of a sense of adventure than getting there any faster. I believe I have settled in on an M20 for her replacement. I'm wondering if the group knows of any good Mooney Gurus to look at one I'm interested in, in the Los Angelos area? I don't hear the horror stories from Cali that I do Florida, but corrosion still needs to be a heightened concern in those areas doesn't it, being near a coast? My understanding is the bird lived in the desert before being somewhat recently brought to the area, but none the less want to make sure I do my due diligence so that my bigger faster bird doesn't end up as hangar decor instead of flying.... So if the transaction looks like its coming together I would like to hire someone to look it over before I fly out there... Thanks, Ray
  2. I'm new here, and don't yet own a Mooney. I'm currently a Cessna 140 owner, and I didn't have corrosion to deal with, but I did strip out the entire interior that had been glued to the interior of my cabin and they glued the living crap out of it. Scotch brites did a great job getting me to aluminum, and specifically the ones I bought on Amazon for my Dremel... When I did the interior I went through 100s of them, they come in a bag of 50-100. They don't last long if there's any corner or object you're going around but do a bang up job fast without the sin of using a steel wheel... I'd highly suggest them vs doing it by hand with a scotch brite... They were a real time saver and did a great job. Then etch, Aldine and epoxy primer....
