Hey! Thanks for the heads up. Heading out there tonight to take my wife on our first flight, have a 172s G1000 rented. Plan to head towards Galveston through the I10 corridor and circle around for dinner at the runway cafe. Maybe I’ll run into y’all if your out that way. -

Ok... if you’re serious let’s talk. Which plane tho! I was a bit confused on how you wanted to partner? Looks like you know Sam as well so that helps. Flew and had lunch with a bunch of those guys including Sam. I’ll PM my number and let’s talk. -

Thank for considering me! I’ve been up to my neck looking at a variety of planes. Not on purpose! Just had the opportunity to go to lunch via a 2006 Cirrus SR22GTS last Friday and fell in love with having A/C. First time ever in my short GA career to fly with A/C in this unforgiving Texas heat. Well that opened Pandora’s box. I ran into a real nice fella that just bought a 2020 TBM 940 which is now my final goal plane! Anyway I haven’t made a decision on my interim plane but I’ve run into another super nice guy that brokers partnerships, he has 27 groups with 80-85 pilots partnered up on planes. Looking at planes 2006 and up is going to cost more but I’m hopeful to not have to deal with all the surprises that earlier planes will give. Meeting the partnership guy tomorrow for lunch. He’s pro 182 until I get hours to move up to a G36 or something equivalent. I’m thinking I’d like to pull off the bandaid and go for the G36 right away and not mess with the 182. I’m super appreciative of @gsxrpilot and his passion for Mooney’s, he’s a great guy! One day I’ll meet him in person! I still haven’t seen a Mooney in person! Did see an Icon A5 at Hooks tho! It’s tiny! -

Well it looks like my interest in this plane sparked someone else’s because they’re doing a prebuy on it today. Oh well... live and learn. Praying to the Karma Gods to send a better plane! -

IKR, was afraid it would look like that. I have been going through manufacturers and such for many months and just last month I narrowed down to Mooney. I had heard Mooney had issues and the company was snobby so I never looked at them but through my research I kept coming back to Mooney. I can lose my mind on all the different things I want here an there. I’m an efficiency ninja but at some point you just have to make a decision. The J was what I was able to figure out on my own. @gsxrpilot gave me a call and we talked 94 minutes... loved ever minute of it because it was so awesome to get the skinny directly from someone that knows this platform like the back of his hand and the people to work with Mooneys. My confidence level for purchasing a plane went through the roof! This is some scary sh@t but who can go wrong with guys like y’all backing them up? -

That would be awesome! Got a PM form someone that said the guy selling it is a sack of... you know. But the plane might be good so it’s worth a look over. Thanks for the offer, you guys are an amazing group! -
You guys tore a new one on that “J”. Any thoughts on this bad boy? @gsxrpilot sent me a pic of his... we’ll be twinning! Haha! https://www.controller.com/listings/aircraft/for-sale/193559845/1986-mooney-m20k-252tse Thanks in advance! You guys are awesome! SteveC aka Ferv, only 179 days to change my name!

Thanks bud! That ole 172p was my go to plane for ppl training, me and her are tight, did really well in my check ride with her. I’ve landed her with 18 kt Xwinds on one of my ppl cross counties. Would have never tried it if I hadn’t landed with 16 kts Xwinds a few days before with the instructor. My light bulb moment for me was playing with the rudder petals on final. My best landing is that one with the instructor... we could feel the tat-tat of the main wheels touch before sitting her down. Have both of those flights on video with a cam out on the wing so I can review every flight and landing. Was instrumental in me getting my ppl in 5 months while my companies. Thanks for the advice on the J... I was thinking the same on the total time. Can’t find much on flight info? SteveC, tried changing my name to FlyFervFly but my auto fill jumped in and changed my name to my same name so now I can change it for 180 days... love technology! No test to see if the name your changing it to is the name already there. The key board on this iPad is driving me crazy! Not a far drive!

Safety Pilot - Fresh PPL - Inst Training - Looking for Rides
SteveC replied to Coach43's topic in General Mooney Talk
Good start on those guys... I’m new to the site as well and so far I’m blown away! These guys are awesome! I just finished my ppl as well last month. Great feeling isn’t it, so proud of you sticking with it so long! Good job! Working on my instrument as well, 15 hours with an instructor and the other 25 can be under the hood with a safety pilot for watching while under the hood. If you lived in the Houston area I’d surely hit you up! I have a buddy who lives up in Evergreen, CO, when I buy my first Mooney we’ll have to have a Mooney get together to celebrate in the Denver area! -
I’m a newbie, just joined the forum yesterday, my “hello post”, think I found my Mooney, it’s up in NJ. The guys at Air-Mods & Repair Inc. are selling it. Do you guys see anything wrong with it? @gsxrpilot was nice enough to spend some time with me tonight on the phone giving me all the ends and out of the different models and such. Great guy! I’ve got smoke coming out my ears. Appreciate any wisdom you guys can throw my way. This will be my first plane ever! Super excited! So glad I joined Mooneyspace!
