  1. Thank you very much! Please keep me/ all of us posted with the progress. How does it work with them using your plane? I was going to offer my plane to them. Do they offer any discounts on equipment for the use of your plane?
  2. Hello, I know this topic has been touched on in the past, but I haven’t seen any new information. I have a 1968 M20C and am wanting autopilot. Does anyone know a timeline for Garmin or true track? What older autopilot could I install in my plane? After flying IMC today in a plane with autopilot, I want it! I wouldn’t mind an old/dated autopilot. Can someone point me in the right direction, please? Old, new.., I just want autopilot now! Lol I have old Instruments and no GPS at this time. Thank you!
  3. Carb. I didn't pay attention to the "F" My Mooney is a M20C, that's what works for mine
  4. I flew with the old owner of my plane. racking up some hours for now, then I'll solo it
  5. Pump the throttle four or five times with boost pump on, then 1/4 inch to start, leave mixture in. Cold engines need lots of gas to start
  6. I did a field test today in my ‘68 M20C. At the airport I was flying at, you have to back taxi in order to takeoff. I did a turn In both directions and did not notice any difference. Both left and right were the same turning radius, in my non-professional opinion. Both myself and my passenger did not notice any difference each time we back taxied to to takeoff.
  7. You can't find anything at night on Hilton Head! haha
  8. wasn't finished editing before you saw my comment.
  9. Thank you for the heads up! I will defiantly look into that. Yes, I am going to move on to IR. I'm looking forward to starting my training after logging some Mooney time. I am getting my complex sing-off this week, weather permitting, and will start my IR after. And don't forget to post a picture of your Mooney! And if you don't have one, post a pic of a Mooney you like! Best wishes, and take care
  10. Love seeing all the Mooneys!! Please keep sharing I don’t know about you, but I can look at Mooneys all day! Nice to see what everybody has. Mooney Monday has begun! I saw someone asking about gust locks for vintage Mooneys.. here is what I use! haha It would be nice to have one for traveling though.
  11. Please respond with pictures of your Mooney! Let’s see all the Mooneys on here. Here’s mine. 1968 M20C
  12. Thank you!! Mine is the short rudder. My tail-come does not look the same as those pictures.
  13. I didn’t know there was such a thing. How can I find that out?
  14. Hello, everyone! I recently purchased a 1968 M20C Ranger. I have gone through the entire owners manual and cannot find anything about Crosswinds. Do any of you have information about the crosswind capabilities of my exact airplane? I phrase it that way just in case other Mooneys have different capabilities. As always, thank you very much for your time! Best, Casey
  15. I will give that a try, thank you!! I just signed the paperwork today to make it 100% my plane so I'm sure I'll be asking many more Q's as I go along. Thank you for your time!!
  16. The little pin that keeps the door from closing seems to be worn out. It’s still stops the door from opening too far, it just doesn’t keep the door from closing. The little pin that keeps the door from closing seems to be worn out. 17. Hello Everyone, Can you please direct me to where I could find a bottom door support bracket? (the bracket that holds the main door open). Mine doesn't work. Thank you!
  18. I say buy! I purchased a Cherokee 140 on 01-07-20, flew it back from CA. I needed to do a panel upgrade to it and that got me thinking..., why put money into a plane I knew I would sell at some point even before I bought it. So, I put the 140 up for sale last Wednesday, for way more than I paid for it, and sold it within four hours. Best part, I bought the very first airplane I ever looked at when I was serious about buying, a '68 Mooney M20C. I've heard you're not supposed to buy the first airplane you look at, although technically I didn't, I sure was glad to see it was still available! I'm not saying you should buy the first Mooney you look at, but seriously consider a Mooney! Happy shopping!IMG_0206.HEIC
  19. I would be more invested after I find a good one. And "when things come up" was more of a "when anything is wrong"
  20. Hello, Do any of you have some recommendations for mechanics that have a lot of experience with Mooneys or Mooney specific mechanics that are as close to KSAV as possible? I'm looking for a mechanic that will be my go to when something comes up. As always, thank you very much! Best, Casey
  21. Thank you very much, I’m definitely excited!
