  1. Is my prop(photo attached) an A or B prop? It has never been eddy current inspected. What does the BF stamp mean?
  2. I also have these thermos fuel caps on my 62 M20C. One side was weeping fuel, the other not. I took the caps off and compared them. The one that works properly was a darker color on the outside rubber. Upon closer inspection I discovered that someone had taken electrical tape and just wrapped it around the diameter one layer, and that made it a perfect seal. I'm not saying I recommend it, but I've had the plane for a year and it works fine that way. Go figure. Must be about a 2 cent repair.
  3. how do rv's and other comparable aircraft compare with our speed limitations? I understand the concept of breaking up, but a "fast" Mooney M20C with a 132 mph limitation? seems ridiculous. What about later model Mooney's. what is their rough air limitation and why higher than the C? Someone said that the tail may come off, but that only happened with a wooden tail, so why blame the tail? I love my Mooney C, but I want to fully understand why so slow?
  4. I saw an old picture of a Mooney m20c with about 20 people standing on the wing, showing the extraordinary strength of the money wing. So why is 140 miles per hour the limit for speed in rough air? this makes no sense to me. if it has a strong wing, then why isn't the speed more like 175 miles an hour for rough air?
  5. I have a Mooney m20c and my battery won't slide out of the battery box without contacting the structure above the battery how do I get the battery out? Is there any way to release the battery box?
  6. I just moved to Ocean Springs, MS. I have no fuel flow instruments, I just fill tanks and divide gallons by hours run.
  7. If I pump the throttle more than once it's flooded. Your procedure won't work for me.....
  8. I recently purchased a 1962 Mooney m20c. I'm having an issue starting the airplane. It has no primer, so I'm supposed to pump the throttle once or twice before starting. But I'm having no success with that. It seems to start when I lean it halfway or completely leaned with virtually no throttle. Then other times, it will start with a 1/2 push of the throttle to prime. I haven't figured it out yet, but at least I can usually get it started now, usually takes 4-5 eight second attempts, rather than a few blades. My brother, an auto mechanic said that if the carb float stopped floating it would produce a rich, flooded condition? I deleted some info. on fuel burn which turned out to be 11.2 gallons rather than 15.4 . My apologies for the error. Any one experience this? Do I need to rebuild the carb?
