So I just joined this forum a few weeks ago and immediately several of the Houston guys not only welcomed me but offered a ride for my son and I. My son Nic is working on his PPL at OU and is home for the Holiday. CLH(Craig H.) was kind enough to arrange a ride in his M20C this morning for Nic and I. Well needless to say it was awesome and I am hooked. Nic is in love with how great of an airplane the Mooney is and has not stopped talking about how much fun it was to fly and that we MUST own one. Everyone who commented on my first post here told me that once we went up in one we would be hooked and would want to own one. How right you all were. I can't thank Craig (CLH on here) for taking the time to take us up. Thanks again my friend you have no idea what an impact you made on my son Nic.

This thread is a real eye opener. I better start a Mooney fund. A nicely equipped OlDER Mooney is starting to sound more and more like what my family’s first plane will likely be. Love this place lots of great info.

Anyone know a good Mooney CFI in or near Houston?

I should have told you where in Houston we live. We are in Northshore on the east side of Houston. Not afraid to travel to get a ride from anyone. Hell my wife will drive hours to go to the mall. I travel in my business during the week but when I am home I can pretty much make my own schedule. Really appreciate all the welcome post. Looking forward to learning a lot

So let me start by saying that I am not a pilot but the father of a future pilot. My son is a freshman at the University of Oklahoma in their aviation program and just passed his first check ride after his first solo. So I am here to learn about Mooney aircraft. Who knows maybe I might decide to give it a go myself. Long story short I want to buy an airplane that my son can fly(after he has his PPL) and that our family can enjoy. Wife loves to travel. I may be asking some very newbie questions so bare with me. So is it to early to start considering a Mooney? My son is training in a piper warrior III. He will be home for the holidays and I am hoping to find somewhere I can get him a ride in a Mooney. We live in Houston Texas. Really enjoying reading all the great info here.
