AndyCapp Posted February 27, 2015 Report Posted February 27, 2015 Hi Mooniacs, My pride and joy has a leak on the exhaust slip joint (port side). After a flight I notice some discolourment on the left cowl flaps. Is there a product I could use to apply into the joint to stop the gas leak. Regards, Andy
Piloto Posted February 27, 2015 Report Posted February 27, 2015 Did you try tightening the three spring/bolts that hold the slip joint. There should be cutter pins at the bolt end to keep the nuts from loosening up. José
Guest Posted February 27, 2015 Report Posted February 27, 2015 The J model exhaust is a slip joint connection not ball joints. Your leak is caused by wearing of the 2 pipes, finding an approved welder who can replace the ends may be and economical way to repair it. Or you can buy a new system from thepartsexchange.com or aircraft exhaust.com Clarence
