My vac pump died about a month ago and a week later I took it for Annual. Sure enough, pump disintegrated. The pic shows the flight (actually, my FR) where the pump failed, then the flight home from Annual with the new pump purring perfectly along at 5.5 or so, and then the flight last week where I kept getting vac warnings on my MVP-50 (4.5-5.5). Is this how a regulator goes south? I have not pulled the cowling and looked at anything yet. I have the full-monty Brittain system (Step, PC and 3-axis A/P). I also have the big filter that protects the system from a disintegrated pump.

My K Model has two 80 amp alternators (two regulators as well). Amp loads are read from the digital Electronics International MVP-50. In flight, I'll get a warning a slight discharge (0.08 Amps) which is corrected when I take the #2 alternator off line. Both alternators test fine during run up when each is separately taken off line to test for charging ability. Any wisdom out these to pass along.

Hi, We recently did the annual on our M20K 252 and noticed that the boost pump would only run with the high boost switch on but not the low boost switch: - Checked the switch and boost pump regulator and found that there is a short on cable #2 from the regulator (the yellow cable is somewhere connected to GND). The short has actually damaged the big transistor on the regulator board (a PMD17K100). - Now the challenge comes: where is the short between cable 2 and GND. -> Anyone who has seen similar issues with the low boost pump?, any hints on how to find the short? Thanks, M252
