Engine monitor installers in the Southwest (CA, NV, AZ)
rbmaze posted a topic in General Mooney Talk
I am planning to install an EDM 900 in the next few months. My M20E is going into a local shop in June for my first annual and I was quoted 50 hours for installing the EDM 900 at this time. I prefer to do the install separately since I might be in for some surprises next month as far as needed repairs. Also going to install an AV-20-S and maybe some improved instrument lighting (nulite?). I'm interested in flying to Las Vegas, Arizona, etc if it will mean cheaper labor than California, or a better install, or both. I have read all the MS discussions about engine monitors. I am very interested in a self install with an overseeing A&P, but I realize I probably don't have time outside of weekends and don't have a relationship with a local A&P. Any recommendations would be great! -
Hi, does anyone has an EDM 900 with a Monroy fuel tank extension? How is the setup for the fuel tanks? Since only the inner (main) tanks have 4 sensors it only make sense to set the fuel indicators to 72 Gal usable fuel (M20K) in total. The EDM 900 has a two tank configuration. If you top of all tanks than the usable fuel is 101 gal (M20K with speed breaks). Is there the same logic as in the EDM 730/830 to set the fuel quantity to 72 or 101 after refuelling? I think the used the "to the taps" option for this configuration in the EDM. I assume its that way but just like to see if somebody has real world experience. Thanks Hendrik

I have a couple of extra JPI EDM800's that I have taken in on trade. These make for a very easy upgrade from a 700 to 800, and you get fuel flow, RPM, MP, OAT, % Power and more. These are the same probes and harnesses used for the EDM830 and 900 (mostly), so you are all set for future upgrades too. Contact me with a list of what you already have installed, and I'll put together a package for your upgrade. Don (supercub180@gmail.com)
