  1. I paid the $9,000 sale price on the IFD 540 two and a half years ago. My M-20-F had an anchient Apollo gps. I went ahead and had the local A&I shop here in Las Vegas remove the Apollo and go ahead and install the tray, antenna, GI106 indicator and wiring needed to make my new unit a simple slide in when I received it. That cost was $3,900 labor plus the $1600 for the used indicator. I finally got the call yesterday that my IFD 540 has been shipped. Eventhough it is supposed to be a simple slide in it had to be shipped to an avionics shop since that local Avidyne authorized shop will get a commission on the sale. I will post pictures when it is done.
  2. I finally located everything I needed to add the Accutrack II and the Accuflite to my Brittain wing leveler in my 1968 Mooney M-20-F and had the folks at Brittain check and certify everyting for installation. Unfortuantely, the Directional Gyro I had bought for use with the Accuflite is the wrong model. I was told by the Brittain people I need to buy one that is a 4000D-1 or anyone that is a G502A. I will take a broken one that can be repaired or a fully functional one. I checked and an overhaul of a non-working one wil run about $500 I plan to go ahead and have the A&P install everything that I have now and install the directional gyro whenever I find one.
  3. I called the folks at Brittain and they confirmed that the DG should be a G-502A or 4000-D to work best with the Accuflite. It looks like a fellow Mooneyspace member has a unit that might work. I emailed a copy of the picture he sent to me to Brittain this morning and intend to buy it if Brittain confirms that it will work. If it does not work out I will also try the Beechcraft site.
  4. I finally tracked down and bought most of the parts I need to add the Brittain Accutrack 2 and Accuflite to my 1968 M-20-F Mooney. I sent them to the Brittain folks and they are ready for install but I need to find a servo control valve and a directional gyro. They say the directional gyro I need must be a Edo-aire or equivalent 4000-D, 502A unit. If you have one of these or know of someone who does I can sure use the help.I am located in Las Vegas.
  5. I am sorry, I typed the wrong email address. I am at vasquezh@repsrv.com
  6. I just had the local avionics guy install the wiring and tray for the new Avidyne IFD 540 that I bought that will hopefully be here early next year. The oly thing missing is a GI106A. If yours is still for sale please email me on this site or my email at vasquezh@hotmail.com.
  7. I just bought my 1968 M-20-F six months ago and am about to spend a bundle on panel upgrade. I paid the $9,000 deposit and am on the list for the new Avidyne IFD540 gps. The local A&I will be installing that and a new JPI Fuel Flow monitor, JPI EDM 700 engine monitor and an HSI. I do not have the cash for a new HSI and am looking for a recently rebuilt or overhauled non-slaved EDM360A. I will be removing the current llMorrow flybuddy gps and one of my King KX55 and CDI indicators to make room for the new Avidyne IFD540. Please respond if you have one or know of a good price on one. So far the best price I found was at Bennett Avionics for $3,500
