Never Been In A Mooney But Researching To Buy

There’s a really nice M20C for sale @ KSNA. http://www.ocaircraftsales.com/inventory/?/listings/aircraft/for-sale/194121711/1963-mooney-m20c?dlr=1&pcid=11691&ssf=0. Might need a few radio upgrades but seems to be in nice condition-I saw it and took a first-hand look yesterday. -
For what it's worth, another CFI and I worked with a gentleman almost from start to finish on his PPL in his Mooney Acclaim. Yes it took awhile longer than if he'd done it in a rental C172 or some such, but he knew that up front and, like the OP here, it was the airplane he wanted and could afford. He did great with it! If you determine that this (or any other Mooney) is the airplane you want, go for it, you won't be sorry. Also, I only know Don Kaye by reputation but its a wonderful reputation!!!

Help with KSNA ground operation

ACI Jet has been great, glad someone finally mentioned them. I was a customer for six years of ACI at San Luis Obisbo, doing the same thing M20S driver is doing in reverse: KSNA to KSBP about two to three times each quarter to visit our son at Cal Poly. Like Niko182 I'm usually parking on the west side, but I'd hazard a guess that if you're landing on 20R the taxi times to ACI Jet will be quite a bit shorter than for Atlantic. If you're here at UCI let us know and we'll meet up at Eureka by campus for a bite and/or drink. We live very close to the campus...
