  1. Quote: dcrogers11 Just ran across this Mooney on Ebay- http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ULTIMATE-MOONEY-HAS-IT-ALL-AND-FREE-DELIVERY-/271000141830?pt=Motors_Aircraft&hash=item3f18de0006#ht_1678wt_1152 Looks like a ton of goodies for the price and I wish I had the cash if it were everthing it said it was. Don
  2. Just called the FBO on the field and spoke to a different person. 25.00 landing fee, if you stay less than 30 minutes no charge! Cant beat that deal. avgas 7.19 gallon. Fee waived with 7.00 gallons.
  3. Thanks everyone for the info. Walking is out of the question, as even though its on the other side of the field, There is no direct route. Neither of us mind a walk but this is not a safe nor semi short walk. I kind of figured this would not be real possible. The airport in question is SYR. FBO ramp fee is 40.00 as I recall, waived if I purchase 20 gallons I think it was at > 7.00/gal.
  4. I need to pick someone up at a reasonable sized class C airport. Was planning to fly in. There are no services short of a taxi to get someone from the commercial side of things to the GA side of the airport. Does anyone know if its possible to fly in, sit out somewhere out of the way near the arrival gate and get my passenger? Or taxi over once they land and pick up? Seems like this would be an impossible scenario but wondered if anyone has done this. Thanks.
  5. 2 questions today. How much, if any, corrosion is normal or acceptable. I called a broker the other day and asked if the Mooney he listed had any corrosion he was aware of. He stammered just a bit and said all planes of this vintage have some corrosion and this one was ok. (This was a 60s vintage). Made me a bit nervous. The other question is I have seen a few planes listed that say the log book is missing prior to whenever. How does this affect the value of the aircraft. I assume damage could be done and have no record either since logs are missing? Thanks. Dan
  6. http://alameda.patch.com/articles/single-engine-plane-crashes-near-oakland-airport Sad sad sad. I happened to be driving by this Sunday and saw the plane in the water and all the police around.
  7. Interesting thread. I just returned from China and actually took some time to speak to one of the pilots on a domestic flight. GA is almost non existent, currently. All flights in China need to be approved by the government, no matter the weather, the flight level. This is supposed to change at some point in the future. When it does, Mooney or any other aircraft company would be nuts not to be there marketing their product. Dan
  8. Quote: screamingtrees Hey too all, great board..Here's the situation in a nutshell...I'm a new pilot (under 100 hrs), done most of my flying in diamond and piper aircraft. I'm going to make an aircraft purchase this year, hopefullt sooner than later..I'd like it to be a Mooney ! Here's the kicker, I'm all of 5' tall soakin wet ! haha.. From research, I'm aware that there are rudder pedal extensions available, but not sure if these will/will not be enough. My home airport is Didsbury, Alberta (cea3), but do most of my flying out of high river. (cen4). I'd like to have a seat in a C-E model as these are the models im most interested in.. Hopefully someone out there can offer some help ! Thanks, Marty
  9. I'm curious what the value? 60K area? Gary
  10. An interesting story. I needed a local chart and contacted a flight school that happened to be down the ramp from an FBO that charges 40.00 ramp fee for using the public airport. They said ask for them when I land and get directed to them. They are well aware of this 40.00 fee practice up the ramp but apparently do not collect anything for using their facilities. Dan
  11. Quote: LT4BIRD You do a run out of the flange with a dial indicater.
  12. Would you climb in that bird with a field fix as 533A, 475C and AD 2004 -10-14 and fly across the rocks on a 4 hour leg? Gary
  13. Ken Thats correct,533A and 475C and AD 2004-10-14 but this is my question to you. How do you know if the shaft was or was not bent unless you tear it down? Gary
  14. Quote: pmccand Thanks Phil So Under 5K. Was it an approved FAA Mooney shop or a by a AME (canada we call them Aircraft Maintenance engineer)? Define the ported cylinders for me? Gary
