  1. I own Mooney 201 M20J SN-240776, 12 units behind yours. I installed at G-340, 2 G-430W's and an Stec 55x in the center stack without concern. I kept a nice King DME and have a GTX-330 high in the right hand stack. The 340 audio panel is installed 3.5 inches below the top of the stack (below the innunciator lights) at the glareshield to accomodate the 45 degree post behind the panel. 2 recommendations. 1 make sure your avionics guy knows what he's doing when installing the Garmin trays. Mine were done right, but I have seen many who do lousy work with jammed and buckled trays, doubled rivots and patch work. 2, use the open space at the top of the center stack discribed above for your fuel flow, custom switching, suction guage etc. Good luck...
  2. Dennis at Lone Star Aero always has that sort of thing. When you call, have him explain why he has more Mooney parts than anyone.....very interesting.
  3. Pounch on the forward trim, positve ROC, then clean. Repeat. I think it is a requisite skill for go-arounds, but as a practical matter, harder on the plane. Hard ground ops bring on tank leaks. I think T&G's in any retract enhances the possibility of a gear -up.
  4. You guys kill me. I'll be discrete and not too tacky. I have a custom made 201 style, non OEM glareshield. I also have a left tank sensor for a 201. In addition, I have a KX155 (loc only) 14v radio, yellow tagged with tray and an Edo-Aire Attitude indicator for a Century 3-C boxed and yellow tagged.
  5. I am new and don't want to rock the boat. I have several Mooney specific items I am looking to sell. Tank sensors, new glareshield....stuff many might have interest in. Is this allowed and is there a proper place for it witin Mooneyspace? Or is this strictly chat and photo sharing? JP
  6. I can't purchase one, I only have 450 hours on a NEW A3-B6, so I'll never own one. I think it is nice to see LYC realize a market, Hartzell to realize a market and new STC's available for 30 year old planes. It'll add value and interest to Heritage Mooneys. Again, LYC suggest a significant increase and so does Hartzell with the 2 blade Top Prop. Put 'em together and neigh-sayers would be hard pressed not to celebrate gains. Want a break through? Buy an Acclaim. Thanks for the welcome mat. I have been tooling around, reading and looking at everyone's photo albums. Awesome site. JP
  7. I don't know the recommended breakin numbers on the IO390. I suspect 25x25 as with the IO360. Another skeptic?
  8. I just spoke with a reputable Mooney Service Center. The IA told me they hung the new 390 conversion with a 2 blade Top Prop and consisitantly test flew 165KTAS. Honeymoon? Hype? I don't know, but this IA is a low key, straight shooter and if you examine the speed claims of each manufacturer sperately, I seems plausible.
