This fly in occurs maybe every two or three years. Covid of course throws a monkey wrench into things. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hoping that COVID will be tamed enough, the mostly Mooney Wings to Walla Walla Fly-In has been scheduled for June 3-5, 2022. Base of ops will be the Marcus Whitman Hotel in downtown Walla Walla, WA (reservations line 877-535-2729). Our great friends at The Mooney Flyer are graciously sponsoring wine and food on Friday evening! There will also be a raffle at that event for a Saturday Walla Walla cruising in a Model A Ford. Special tastings at one or two crowd favorite wineries are planned for Saturday and after dinner that night back at the Whitman there will be a white elephant wine exchange. So if you’re a Mooney lover with a wine problem, or a wine lover with a Mooney problem, come and join old and new friends! You can ask questions here or email me at aeroncadoc@comcast.net. The front leather seats in our Bravo are cracking and in need of new foam. We’ve gotten a quote of $1500 per seat which seems reasonable as far as aircraft prices go. Anyone else have experience to share? Thanks.

I have a starting issue that began a few times before having the starter replaced and has continued since. This is a 1997 Bravo. The engine turns over when pushing in the key in starter position but doesn’t fire until I release and turn the key towards the off position. I’m not exactly sure if it’s firing on pressure release or from when I start to turn it off (which I think it’s when turning towards off position). So far I haven’t tried a hot start this has been with a cold or slightly warmed engine.

I have been having trouble with my Sandel. I am getting an intermittent Gyro failure. When this happens I must disconnect the auto pilot or the plane makes wild gyrations as it tries to follow a rapidly precessing heading indicator. Sometimes I need to reset the circuit breaker to get The Sandel back online. Sometimes I just press the ACK button to get it to reset. Any idea about what is going on? Thanks to all who responded. My junior partner ended up going to SAT and flew the plane back to Everett, WA with bob Cabe fulfilling his insurance checkout requirements. I got up in the plane this week and made sure i had a 9000 foot runway available so I could test out the landing differences between the M and K models. I noticed on another thread something about running power settings by some numbers perhaps mentioned by Don Kaye. The numbers run in the 50's and one post mentioned MP + RPM as the formula. Can someone explain this numbering system to me? Also, we had a bunch of avionics installed when the plane was down in TX and notice that we can't get glideslope or localizer infor to read out on the Sandel from the newly installed GTN750. It will go to a local avionics shop but I'm wondering if there's a button I'm not pushing! Henry H N355RZ@KPAE

Greetings: I will be picking up a 1997 Bravo to replace my 252 in a few weeks. Other than the checklist in the POH I'm looking to see if any of you out there have developed a checklist that you find very handy and useful to use. If you don't mind sharing it please let me know how to get a copy. Henry H N355RZ@KPAE

Plane sold to Jimmy at All American. Look to see it on the market after he's overhauled the engine and worked on it. It will be one sweet airplane with an awesome panel. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Can autopilots that get their info from the vacuum attitude indicator get their info from the G5? That might make what you call your primary instrument somewhat more relevant. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Is GForce aviation still around? They're listed on the Mooney MSC web page. They're in Akron. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Can anybody suggest a competent Mooney shop in or near Akron Ohio where I can have a bravo prebuy inspection done? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Given variations in aircraft equipment what is the typical useful load range for Bravos? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That's why real Mooney aficionados say the Encore is the best Mooney out there. But it does depend on how and what you use your Mooney for. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I actually got around to studying the logbooks. The useful load is 1050 pounds not 800. Better not to trust my memory on these things! Just shows that I rarely had to think about w&b fir 95% of my flights. Henry Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

After talking with at least one broker (and more discussion on the way) it sounds reasonable to lower our sale price to 125,000. You will need to do an overhaul on engine and prop but refurbished the plane would be worth 200k. Panel and TKS are best selling points. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
-
Well it's slightly complicated. My old airplane partner wants out. I found a new partner but he wants a newer bravo. Especially one with FIKI. I'm okay with ANY Mooney even thigh the Encore is the best of the lot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

UL is something little like 800# however the best part is with the Encore you almost never need to think about gross weight issues or w & b. We're not FIKI. We didn't want to spend the extra 10K when we put the TKS on and we only have one alternator. Asking price is 145K. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
-
Thanks. We're putting it on the market for 145k. Figure it's a tradeoff between needing to do the engine soon but having a panel that needs little to nothing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

You are correct. This was Slim's in the ancient past. We bought it from him. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Of course that is one thought we've had and is still a consideration. But there are some nice And newer Bravos out there with FIKI and although the 252 is really the best of the Mooney line in my opinion a Bravo would be nice to own as well if a screaming deal came along.
