  1. Quote: GeorgePerry So if I understand correctly, if I want the last cyilinder to peak to run at, say 30 deg LOP, then all the others will be even more LOP...Correct?
  2. I'm glad that you're paving the way. This way if everything goes well with yours, I can just send my future 231 to the same shop
  3. I am also in the market for a 231 and have viewed that ad: Plus's: Wastegate (a must have for me), Intercooler( also a must), speedbrakes, NDH, good a/p Neg's: interior (yuck!), No Garmin 430/530 ($10k right there), no engine monitor, no flight director (a must have for my future upgrade plans), old audio panel (i'd have to spend $ upgrading), no gami's All-in-all seems like a fair asking price
  4. Not him, but typically the state you register it in. However, I have heard that a select few states will try to tax you for a buying a plane there. However, that is just heresay. So you best check.
  5. Most states become aware of the sale after you register the aircraft with the FAA. They probably periodically search the FAA database for new registrations.
  6. Quote: RHHolt I've got a '86 252, it is my 2nd Mooney. First was an '82 201. Great bird but I wanted more speed and altitude for flying in the Intermountain West. My 252 does 180 kts. (73% power) above 14k and burns a little less than 12 gph doing so. The downside is uselful load, 340 lbs. with full fuel. I rebuilt the engine, new interior, paint and went through all the systems. Installed a JPI 930 and recently, a Garmin G600. The 201 is a good ride but can't match up to the 252 for speed and flight envelope.
