  1. Hello, New ovation owner here! Upon shutdown and turning off the master switch there is a loud bang in the cockpit. Electrical related. What would cause this. The Air conditioner and related fans are all off. Any ideas? Thanks
  2. I am in KCFO. Just bought an ovation. Will be bringing it back after Oshkosh! N21MS. Will be in a heated hanger sharing with a bonanza. What's your tail number?

Thought it was 5k. Man things are going up. Any other places to go besides Lasar? They don't mark up the price do they? Thanks

  9. Thanks guys! Appreciate the quick response. I was thinking of buying but not now. Went to deploy speed brakes and they were inop. Ughhh. Lots of inop things that weren’t talked about.

He has 400. hours in the M20C and instructs often as a freelance. Cheap rates too. Give him a call. 303-515-1724 Drew Hanna
  11. I actually have signed up with savvy to help with the prebuy!
  12. it had a prop strike so the owner overhauled it to be safe. that happened at around 600
  13. Thanks! Boroscope pictures will be a must then for sure!
  14. I have read everything I can about this subject but always like other opinions. I like this 1998 ovation I found for sale but am concerned about the engine and the plane not flying that much. It has been in a heated hanger its whole life up in the Northeast area and no expense spared MX performed. TT 1300 SMOH 700. Overhaul done 15 years ago. It's original avionics which doesn't bother me as I can get the panel I want. My concern is looking at the compressions over the years they have been slowly going down which is normal. As of 2 months ago they are as follows: # 62 #62 #3 67. #4 60 #5 65 #6 60. They were in the low 70'S 11 years ago at 350 hours SMOH. I know continentals have lower compressions and it doesn't tell you much. What items should be done at prebuy (Boroscope, oil analysis, go fly it for a hour and half then do compressions, etc.)? Anything else to do to protect me in the pre purchase?
  15. Update, What do you think? 1995 ovation. 2900TT, 40 SMOH,40 POH. Overhauled at reputable shop. Annual done I February. No options except Oxygen tank. Paint 7, interior 7. Only updated equipment is a 430W and Garmin GTX345 transponder. KC150 autopilot, JPI700. Price 180k. The 280 Hp engine is fine with me. I can't fine a Screaming Eagle for sale but that would fit my needs as well!
  16. Looking for an early ovation. Don't care to much about the panel. But would like an engine monitor. Don't need TKS or Prop anti ice. Budget is 175-200k. I have found to in that range and one with new overhaul at 195K.
  17. Anybody have a steering horn assembly for 1968 m20C? Going in annual and I might need one. Thanks
  18. Just looking for recommendations for good engine overhaul shops for my 0-360. Costs or factory rebuilt? Midwest area preferably. Thanks
