    I had to do the same choice a while back and chose... the Garmin GDL 50. It has no downsides in terms of integration with Foreflight, but uses Bluetooth to connect to your iPad which is significantly more convenient (it will always just automatically connect to the iPad when on). Also allows the iPad wifi to be used freely while staying connected to the unit.
