Beech I-470, 260 hp. stx 55. 165 KTAS True.
The Mooney has the GSO-550 N 310 hp. with a kfc 150 Naved with GPS. 182KTAS True. both burn about 13-14 gal hour LOP.
the Deb partner is a retire Airline Pilot, I am active Airline pilot, we think similarly as to Safety. I am leaning toward the mooney knowing my partner who is 70 will age out sooner than later and I will have to purchase the entire plane. My biggest downside is I only plan to fly 50-70 hours a year.
Fiddy/Fiddy on the partnership. Ovation was purchased for 145k knowing it needed an engine. New engine and Aspen @ $55K. My part would put into it with some equity to today's market prices.
I am, Partnership is fiddy/fiddy. Both have factory reman engines and similar Aspens etc. I think deb partner is more aligned but I will know more next week.
I will use the aircraft to visit Florida, Al, NC Va and Duck hunt in ARK. I fly jets for a living so speed is very important. 3 to 1 time savings versus driving.
I am looking to buy into a partnership. My two best options are mooney Ovation (1999) and a Beech Debonair (1962).
Both aircraft are equipped well and have similar radio setups etc. My wife thinks the mooney is to cramped, I say she won't be in it as long.
I would like the feedback of the group with any ownership experience from each. The money difference is relative to the valuation 65,000 for the beech
and 110,000 for the mooney.
Thanks!
Thank you all for your experience and knowledge.
What do flight plan your fuel burn 62%, 65%? What seems to be the sweet spot cruise numbers?
Many Thanks!
Jet
I am considering a 50% ownership of a 1999 Ovation. I would like viewpoints. My partner bought it right $$. It has 1450 hours and needs a new Garmin $5500. Otherwise
it is ready to go. It flew 9 hours to our airport this week.
What should I look for. God Bad, and Ugly.
Thanks!
