Hello everyone,

I am returning to flying after a eight-year hiatus. I owned, modified, and flew a 1965 C model for 20 years and 2000 hours. I am about to retire and need a fast reliable means of travel. My previous Mooney experience informs my prospective choice of a Missile or Rocket. I will be here absorbing knowledge regarding all of the things that changed since I last hung up my headset.

After a long search and much reflection I decided to buy the pictured J model. After 8.5 years of no flying, I finished my checkout in N56338. It required 8.7 hours over two days and 42 landings. At least 20 were with a 90 degree crosswind of 8 knots gusting to 14 at MHR near Sacramento, CA.

I hired Don Kaye to instruct for the 201 checkout, BFR, and Wings program. True to his reputation, he is a consummate professional, excellent instructor, and a pleasure to fly with. He came to Mather (MHR) in his Bravo, and it has the same paint scheme as my 201.
