  1. Looking to purchase a single GIA63W. Please DM me if you can help. PN ending in 01. Thanks in advance!
  2. I do have the stormscope as well as active traffic both on the G1000 already so maybe I could save a few bucks with the Stratus and FF combo? Not as clean but I am so familiar with FF and am still getting used to the G1000 so I am torn...
  3. I had the Stratus with FF on my prior Mooney. Now have a G1000 Bravo and was wondering if Sirius XM weather is worth the extra dough? Thanks in advance.
  4. Needed to read that a few times to comprehend but great info Ben!
  5. DVA, interesting read for sure, thank you. The author mentioned running 100df rich of peak on the way up. I have read where others don’t lean untill established on cruise altitude. Wondering what others do? In my J I always leaned as I climbed out but was thinking now I would leave it rich in my Bravo. Any advise greatly appreciated.
  6. Could you break that down in layman’s terms?
  7. Car, This is my first turbo so no I am not very experienced with them. Have read a lot about it and actually ran LOP for the first time ever from Las Vegas to Central Oregon a few days ago. Was down as low as I could be due to strong headwinds. Flew back at 10,500 and 20 degrees LOP. Running at 29 & 23 I saw FF at 12.8 which seems amazingly low. TIT was just over 1600 and CHT hightest was 385.
  8. Once you have set LOP and your altitude, MP or RPM have not changed is it necessary to recalibrate LOP after say an hour or so or can you just leave it alone? Just wondering what changes in OAT would do to settings and if that requires readjustment?
  9. Mike, It says ‘Stall’ loudly. Not sure what the gear warning says?
  10. Actually will sound before wheels leave the ground. Interesting thought about the spring however. I do keep thinking about how common this issue is with the TKS equipted Bravo’s also!
  11. Car, Spoke with Jerry Jordon and CAV and he said up till yesterday he has never heard of any issues with his system and this issue. He did also say that he had heard of this happening with the long body and recommended calling Mooney (waiting on a call back now). He thought the problem could be fixed simply by adjusting the stall vane housing slightly.
  12. Fox, Have you ever had anyone try to fix it?
  13. I really don’t think it is technique in this case. Believe me I don’t have an issue with admitting when I am wrong but when my CFI first demonstrated his takeoff technique it did the same thing. That plus the other Bravo with TKS I flew in did the same thing and the owner of that plane had many years experience. Strongly think it may be more of a TKS issue than anything else at this point?
  14. Except I also hear the warning on climb out at 90ish?
  15. Had a Mooney M20J before. This is a whole new level! Glass and trying to learn the whole LOP procedures is making things interesting. Not to mention engine management!
  16. Pitot static tests are current. I do have TKS and have only ever flown in one other Bravo that also had TKS and the same issue! Have had a checkout with a CFI and we stalled around 61 or 62 indicated dirty. So now I am thinking maybe it is an issue only with TKS equipted Bravo’s?
  17. I have been pulling back the yoke around 45 to 50 to take pressure off the nose, then lifting off around 70’s. Climb out in the 90’s for the first 400 or so then gradually increase speed to around 120. I am still a very new Bravo owner and have less than a dozen takeoffs under my belt.
  18. Is this a common issue? Very disconcerting for passengers! I asked a mechanic to fix it and he charged me an hour to adjust the angle on the stall indicator with zero difference. Guess I should point out that I am not stalling and just rolling down the runway taking off normally (even says “Stall” on takeoff up to a few hundred feet).
  19. SM, Called Garmin on the possibility of an NXI upgrade and they said there won’t be any option to do that. Only available on new Mooneys:(
  20. Mar, It needs a backup pump on the TKS to be FIKI.
  21. Clarence, Just checked and it was weighed with only unusable fuel (3 gal) per side.
  22. Steve and Car, it is amazing how much I have learned just from reading on MS! I will reach out to Kendrick! I am also truly amazed by how many more flying days I will have with the FIKI and turbo from my last Mooney. This really makes the plane so much more usefull!! Just need to overcome my terror of the scary looking computer screens!
  23. Lance, That is the first thing I in fact did (great minds), and he has two WAAS units left. The price seems insanely high ($25,900) considering I upgraded a 430 to WAAS for what I think was about a grand. I am embarrassed to admit this but with the Monroy fuel tanks my total fuel is actually only 118 gallons. Still a decent amount especially when you consider a UL of 888.. I have included the prior page from the W & B:
  24. Lance, I have done as instructed:) See below:
  25. AC, No on AC. Not sure why I would be so heavy honestly. It does have a G 1000 but can’t imagine that would be heavier than steam gauges?
