Retired US Army Armor officer, and one time owner of a superb 1979 Grumman Tiger.  Let it go in 2006 because I was too busy deploying every year to justify the fixed cost.  Still regret it.  Flying mentor of mine once upon a time owned an older M20F.  He thought my Grumman was "a much cooler airplane," and in some ways I agree.  But the flights I took in his airplane highlighted Mooney's stability, smooth transitions, and common sense design.  Now, while I still love the Grummans, I foresee a need to go faster to justify using a plane for business travel.  Am actively looking while I seek to get my pilot skills and capabilities refreshed after a dozen year hiatus.
