  1. I have one in my "F". Flight Enhancements provided great help to my mechanic and even diagnosed the fact that mixture was running way too rich. As for the auto lean; it works well, runs cool, lasts a long time, and you don't have to worry about it!
  2. Hello all, I have up for sale a used exhaust system off my Mooney "F". Not a thing wrong with it and is available due to me installing a Powerflow. I'll accept any reasonable offer. Pat
  3. could be, as I said just opened box to check contents.
  4. Nope, just checked the contents of the box
  5. I have for sale an JPI EDM-830 that I purchased off eBay. I later found a 930 so this one needs a new home. The original seller said that it was working fine when pulled from a Mooney "J". Comes with the probes etc. $1700 plus $30 shipping.
  6. My "E" model came with a power flow and was a 160 kt tas bird. On flying my "F" home it was 150 kts tas. I know the F's are slower than E's, but immediately ordered a power flow for it....
  7. I have an EDM-830 with probes out of a "J" model that I'll sell.
  8. I had the cb replaced and that seemed to fix the issue. Have since traded the plane in for a nice "F" model with a johnson bar....no longer have to worry with it!
  9. That pretty much sums it up....will have the mechanic check/clean all of these and check on the SB on the actuator before I have the gear motor rebuilt. Thanks!
  10. No, haven't had to extend it manually....yet. Yesterday, I flew it back from Tulsa. Gear retracted normally but the red light did not illuminate. Pressing the circuit breaker would only get it to flicker. Landing in North Little Rock, the gear extended normally, but green down light did not illuminate until I pressed the cb. Of course, about every 10th gear cycle moving the gear handle moves nothing until I recycle. I'm hoping its not the gear motor!
  11. Yep, familiar...rotated and pressed to test....no light....it is the ldg gear cb
  12. I purchased the plane this past June....no telling when it was last replaced....hell, it could be original for all I know!
  13. I'm beginning to think that it pops in transition. You cannot tell when it pops as it does not open all the way. There is no physical indication that it has popped only a light click when you press it back in. This time it obviously popped on retraction as the red up light never illuminated. This is a 1966 model.
  14. One other thought, I flew it today and I noticed upon retraction I had no red light indication. I pressed the gear CB and could get the red light to flicker but not stay on. When I extended the gear for landing, no green down indication....mechanical indicator moved normally. Pressed the CB and green light illuminated. Does that cloud things up more? Perhaps the problem is when the gear retracts?
  15. Ok, fixed the title and thanks for all the advice!
  16. Okay, so I've started having some gear issues. The first episode was that there was no green gear down indication, mechanical floor indicator and FBO personnel verified the gear was down. It turned out that the landing gear cb had opened (although you couldn't tell visually). This has happened again about 3 times. The latest issue is that about every 8-10 times the gear handle is placed in the down position, absolutely nothing happens and I have to recycle the handle several times in order for it to extend. My mechanic put it on jacks and on about the 10 cycle the gear did not extend. While checking the contacts on the gear relay, the gear extended. He is not sure since it is so intermittent where the problem is. Has anyone had a similar issue?
  17. If it is the G2 I'll take it
  18. Hey a good idea and will do....
  19. Well the mystery has been solved! Turns out that the EDM was telling the truth. As suggested by Don Maxwell the mechanics checked the Vernatherm and it was not functioning at all! I'm darn glad that I bought that EDM for I would have never known there was a heat problem as the factory guage is obviously bad. I just hope that this has not been going on for very long.
  20. Hey will do and thanks for the info on your bird!
  21. Thanks for all the replies! JPI has the oil galleys in the front of the engine as the place for the sensor and that's where mine is. The EDM does read ambient temperature when turned on and as I said it is spot on when testing with a water heater. The oil pressure has been in the 65-70 psi range. I will talk to the mechanic about grounding. I called Don Maxwell in Longview, TX (I used to be his internet provider) and he suggested moving the EDM probe to the factory oil temp position and see what it reads from there. He also suggested an inspection of the vernatherm to make sure that it is functioning properly. Any other ideas from you guys is much appreciated!
  22. Hello gurus, I am new to the forum and this is my first post. I recently acquired a 1966 M20E and have really been enjoying its speed and efficiency. I recently had an EDM-830 installed and there is a small glitch. The 830's oil temp will climb up to 260 degrees by the time I reach cruise altitude. The factory gauge indicates around 190. The cylinder head temps range from a low of 285 to 323 degrees. Finally, the oil looks normal and is not black, thin, or have any burnt odor (I use AeroShell 15-50). JPI says there sill be some difference between the factory and 830 temp but not 70 degrees. We have tried different sending units, and tested the 830 with a thermostatically controlled water heater up to 200 degrees and it has been spot on. The factory guage is a little off, but I still don't see how the oil temp could be as high as the EDM indicates due to the other readings. Has anyone seen this before? Thanks in advance! Pat
