  1. I see planes of the same years or close that are sometimes labeled Super E and some are just titled E. TAP even has different sections for each. Is there a difference?
  2. I talked with the previous owner and he had all good things to say about it. Thats as far as I got in the research. I have decided to wait for the market to make up its mind, both the stock market and the airplane market, and look for a F/J. I will use the rear space.
  3. Related question, you have B11 and B12 AP listed? Is there a difference?
  4. Thanks everyone! I will find out the mechanic and give them a call. No need for anyone to fly out there just yet.
  5. https://www.trade-a-plane.com/search?category_level1=Single+Engine+Piston&make=MOONEY&model=M20E+SUPER+21&listing_id=2403584&s-type=aircraft Looking at this plane. Its a little far from me (1000nm), just wondering if anyone knows the plane or can lay eyes on it? Thanks! (If this is in the wrong section, let me know)
  6. Thanks everyone. I was digging to see what the pros and cons are. The money is important, but not a final determination. If its a huge pain to maintain or fix or insurance is double because of it, that is a good to know. But it sounds like I give up some useful, and its a another system to know and understand, but gain some safety and re-sellability. Now, I just gotta check the couch for 139k real quick..
  7. I am working towards my IR, but I see this J model near me. Checks all the boxes, but has TKS. If I never intentionally fly through clouds for the next 4 years (as an example), does having it and not needing TKS hurt me financially? Like are annuals more, maintenance increased, and/or insurance higher for having that system in place? Or is it minimal cost for something that would helpful when I have my IR and do encounter icing? http://aircraftownershipsolutions.com/inventory/1986+mooney+m20j+201+n5813f/938
  8. Bigger question, how does one know if the prices/availability are heading down? It seems like it will it take a huge increase in planes on the market for lower prices before anyone realizes the market is heading down.

  10. Asking the dumb question here, how does the performance change with the turbos over a non-turbo E?
  11. I am quickly narrowing down what I want and what to focus on. Is there someone at these airports that would like to give me a quick tour of their plane? I am more looking to sit in one and test fit it. I sat in a K model about 5 years ago, but I dont remember much. I dont carry more than a passenger, so either the short or mid body versions works. I believe the front seats are comparable for those models. I hope this is the correct forum for this.
  12. I sold my Vtail this year and looking for a replacement plane. I used a well known agent to find my Bo as he knew things to ask and look for. Along with lots of connections to off market planes that could be for sale. But he is not that versed in the Mooney models. Is there someone that I can hire to help me find a good bird? Or a broker that is a good go to place? I can only research and read so much, and my days are pretty busy.. TIA
  13. I dont see a Cuisnart or a toaster oven, so I am gonna pass. LOL Man, thats a great panel. Maybe when the squatters are out of the house and in college I can think about something that pretty.
  14. Looking for a F. On a budget, so nothing fancy. Just an honest decent plane. Prefer electric gear over manual but not a showstopper. Mid time engine. IFR certified or IFR certifiable please. You can contact me here or Bob Stephens at 928-300-4045. Thanks!
  15. I am closing in on a deal and wanted to sort out someone to do a pre-buy in South Carolina. Any suggestions? Thanks! -John
  16. I have been talking with the owner. Does seem like a decent plane. Any one put eyes on it? Does it look well cared for?
  17. Before I get a chance to call him on this, any concerns from anyone? Besides the bad genes and hatred for animals?
  18. Excuse the ignorance, but what are wing leveler boots?
  19. I know a decent M20F that is for sale near El Paso. Priced a little high, but everything so far has come back extremely clean. I may have to pass on it, but I haven't killed the deal yet. I think the owner pulled the ad, so here is some quick specs. Located in Alamogordo, NM Listed at $49,900 1968 M20F 3510N TT 3800 SMOH 1000 KX-155's Gami's WX9-- Brittan 2 Axis IFR cert still valid Contact Russ Burkhard 210-383-8342
  20. I am super close to buying a F. I would like to test fit one as one of the steps before plunking down money. I saw and sat in a K model awhile ago but would like to do that again to refresh my memory. I am near KDPA KARR 1C5 and can meet outsyof business hours. The rental is down for a few weeks, and once it's back on the line I don't mind heading towards someone. Hoping someone has a few hours to sell me on the midsize models and talk some planes. Food will be my treat.
  21. I got the logs and had Savvy review them. No glaring issue. They mentioned it was treated with CorrosionX in 1996 but no record of it since so they say to watch out for corrosion. I am still interested in the plane. I will send you a pm
  22. Yea, I was thinking the same thing. Great news for owners and sellers, bad news for buyers. The secret is out.
  23. Feb issue of Plane and Pilot has a list of great used planes to buy. Mooney 20F Executive was listed. Great advertising and vote of confidence.
